Sir Alex Ferguson Retires As Coach Of Manchester United


After 26 years of prime success at Manchester United, long time coach Sir Alex Ferguson has announced that he will be retiring as coach at the end of the season.

At 71, Ferguson is the most successful manager in the history of English football with 38 trophies won – including 13 Premier League titles.

In a statement Ferguson said ‘The decision to retire is one that I have thought a great deal about and one that I have not taken lightly. It is the right time. To the fans, thank you. The support you have provided over the years has been truly humbling. It has been an honour and an enormous privilege to have had the opportunity to lead your club and I have treasured my time as manager of Manchester United

Possible replacements have been rumored to be Everton manager David Moyes and Real Madrid boss Jose Mourinho. Other names being thrown out are Ryan Giggs & Jurgen Klopp of Borussia Dortmun.
