Emmanuel Emenike earlier today announced his retirement from international football via instagram just days after his teammate Enyeama did the same thing. He had played 31 games and scored 16 goals for the super eagles.
There is no confirmation, but rumors swirling have it that this came about as a result of Sunday Oliseh giving him a harsh dressing down after the game against Cameroon.
Nigerians… as we always do have had reactions to this news, and it’s pretty mixed:
Heard Emenike was given a verbal dressdown by Oliseh who also told him,the game VS Cameroun was his last chance to impress

These players don't even have love for their country, no passion, nothing. Emmanuel Emenike can go to hell.

Emmanuel Emenike retires from int'l football. One might be tempted to think this rash of Instagram announcements is a marketing ploy.
