Former NSA Col. Sambo Dasuki (rtd) Arrested By The DSS

Former national security adviser, Col. Sambo Dasuki (rtd), was arrested yesterday night at his private residence in Abuja by operatives of the Directorate of State Service (DSS). The arrest took place at about 6:40pm when the agents stormed his house and asked he followed them.

According to Leadership, it gathered that a similar scenario played out in Sokoto, in the home owned by the former NSA’s father, Ibrahim Dasuki, a former Sultan of Sokoto, where some other DSS operatives also stormed the home apparently in search of the retired colonel.

The DSS operatives later in the night whisked away the former NSA to one of their facilities in Abuja for interrogation.

Many would guess that the arrest had to do with the unaccounted monies and abuse of his office during his time as the national security adviser (NSA).

A security source last night confirmed the arrest of Dasuki while no reason was given yet as to why the former NSA was arrested.

A close source to Dasuki has this to say;

The ex-national security adviser was shocked that he was not contacted or invited for interaction on any issue. Dasuki is suspecting that there is a motive to make him to spend the Sallah break in detention.

“As I am talking to you, neither the director-general of the DSS, Lawal Musa Daura, nor any of the operatives in his house has spoken with Dasuki. All they wanted was for him to surrender.”

Every attempt to get more information from the DSS failed as former spokesman of the service, Marilyn Ogar, had been removed without a replacement.
