Sources have it that the Comptroller General of the Nigerian Customs, Abdullahi Dikko Inde, has submitted his resignation letter to President Buhari.
The CG of customs whose tenure is set to end in the next two years has given no reasons as to why he is willing to drop from his position so soon.
The report however stated that several top-shots in the Customs are currently under investigation for corruption and some of them may be shown the way out or arrested.
The president had earlier turned down the resignation of the custom boss, but later agreed to let Dikko go, although rumor has it that the President is getting ready to replace him with an officer from the South-South region.
Recall that a similar gesture played out with National Security Adviser, Col. Dasuki Sambo (rtd), when the president turned down his resignation, but later fired him.
Dikko’s tenure as the Customs boss has been enmeshed in series of controversy. From the constant allegations of corruption, to his alleged forgery of his academic credentials.
