Another explosion has occurred at a church in Jos, Plateau State. This being the second bomb in less than two weeks occurred at an ECWA Church branch in Tudun Wada, Angwan yashi.
The church is however not far from the Federal secretariat in Jos.
According to an eye witness, the bomb made a loud bang as believers were worshiping in the church at that moment. He further added that the number of casualties would be high due to the high turn-out of masses.
The explosion occurred barely two weeks after a similar explosion at a Redeemed Church in Yobe State claimed many lives.
Efforts to get a report from the police spokesperson in Jos proved futile at the time of the incident. We would however update you as the story unfolds.
Some other eyewitnesses in the area said there were no casualties as a security guard who works with the church was able to spot the bomb on time and took precise action to avert mass casualties.
According to the witness, the guard picked the bomb and threw it off the church of which the bomb took off immediately. The guard sustained some injuries but was rushed to the hospital immediately.
Another witness said that upon arrival, police anti-bomb unit discovered one more bomb planted in the restroom of the church.
Spokesperson to the police Abuh Emmanuel, was quoted saying this;
“Experts have been sent there immediately to ascertain those who planted the explosion, and possibly, the manufacturers of the device. But I was told no one died in the incident.”
