The menace is still on as members of the civilian JTF in Maiduguri escaped death narrowly on Monday. This was due to the fact that there was an explosive device planted close to a check point which affected many of the JTF members.
According to witnesses, the incident occurred in a village called Njimtilo. Njimtilo is a few kilometers away from the gate of Maiduguri. The check point had a combination of soldiers, custom and immigration officers.
According to an eyewitness interviewed by premium times; “The Blast occurred at 12:30 at the Njimtilo checkpoint; no one was reported dead but some civilian JTF members were injured. It was not a suicide bomb from what I observed. I guess the bomb was either buried or dropped near the place.”
