Members of the insurgent group “Boko Haram” have taken over the highway linking Maiduguri and Damaturu, capitals of Borno and Yobe states respectively.

One of the police officers posted to that stationed along the village highways confirmed this as he said travelers were asked to return as the terrorists have taken over the road between Benisheik and Ngamdu.

The officer who asked to be kept as anonymous for security reasons further added that, the deadly sect had already attacked Ngamdu village and killed not less than 10 persons.

“As I am talking to you now, soldiers are moving towards Benisheik, while we are here asking motorists to return to Maiduguri until the road is cleared,” he said.
