Review: Falz – Bahd, Baddo, Baddest | Not As Bahd As We Thought

When I initially heard that Falz, Olamide and Davido hopped on a track together my antennas went up. Then I heard the creative title (Bahd, Baddo, Baddest), and I got even more excited, but then after listening to the track I was left rather unimpressed. It’s not like it’s a bad song, it’s just not popping.

First all Falz, who’s been very fascinating lyrically, had one of his more mediocre verses. A line like “They want to join the bad gang, we can initiate/which musician do you know is having AMVCA” is neither here no there, and very un-Falz like in terms of lack of direction. Olamide also didn’t cover himself in glory either, and didn’t have his usual energy. Davido funny enough had the best sounding verse, even if he didn’t do much by the way of wordplay and lyrics (he’s a pop artist btw so he’s excused) he made his part sound pretty dope. You can almost say he saved the day sef.

The hook is pretty decent, and might be the part of the song everyone waits for. Sess did pretty nice on the productions also to make it an easy listen.

Overall, honestly for the caliber of artists on the track, it’s a pretty underwhelming tune. The idea of the tune is A+, but the execution is a nothing more than a solid C. We kindly request a do-over. This one is not as bahd as we thought.
