Yemi Alade, Davido, AKA Lose Out On MTV EMA 2015 Best African Act Award

MTV Base today revealed that Diamond
Platnumz is the winner of the 2015 MTV EMAs Best African Act, meaning Nigerian artists Yemi Alade and Davido will miss out on the award. 

Scores of music fans visited mtvema.com to vote and Diamond Platnumz came out on top. Beating competition from AKA, Yemi Alade, Davido, and DJ Arafat. 

Diamond Platnumz will now go up against the winning act from India to be
named Best Africa/India Act – and you can help him win. Voting is now
open on mtvema.com until24 October at 23:59 CAT.

Previous Best African Act winners include Sauti Sol (2014), LCNVL (2013), D’Banj (2012 & 2007),
Freshlyground (2006) and 2Face (2005).

Host Ed Sheeran and co-host Ruby Rose will be taking charge of this
year’s MTV EMAs, which will broadcast live across the globe on Sunday 25
October at 22:00 CAT from the Mediolanum Forum in Milan.
