Popular Nigerian rapper, singer and President of the Marlians worldwide, Azeez Fashola, better known as Naira Marley had his show which was slated to hold in Cameroon cancelled twice.

According to posters of the event, the show was billed to take place on 14th February 2021 at Amusement Park Limba but was marred by challenges which eventually led to the cancellation.

Prince Enobi, the show promoter, however, put out a statement, explaining the pitfalls they experienced while preparing for the highly anticipated show.

“It’s been days and hours of back and forth to put together this amazing Valentine Experience with African Superstar, Naira Marley. Almost 80% tickets have been SOLD OUT but for reasons beyond our control, we can’t have the concert. We apologize to all Naira Marley Fans who have bought tickets to attend this event which has been cancelled twice,” said.

Mr Enobi’s post on Instagram was a caption for a video he shared which showed Naira Marley apologising to his Cameroonian fans. According to him, the show was cancelled for “obvious reasons.”

Follow the announcement of the cancellation, Joey Akan, took to his Twitter page to make alleged revelations on why the intended show was cancelled.

He made these revelations in a series of tweets and one reads in part, “Yesterday, a Naira Marley concert scheduled to hold in Cameroon, didn’t happen. Special Forces Soldiers flooded the venue, scattered it, and chased everyone away, despite Marley being in the country, and ready to hit the stage. Why? Hate and beef from Cameroonian artists.

In a not so similar case, Omah Lay and Tems were arrested in Uganda after they were reportedly cleared to perform in the country.

It was alleged that Ugandan singer, Bebe Cool was responsible for the snitching on the raving Nigerian singers.
