Iconic Nigerian pop singer 2Baba, YBNL boss, Olamide, Big Brother Naija winner Laycon, among others have hailed upcoming Nigerian pop singer Omah Lay.

These accolades seem to be in order as the body of work currently tops Apple Music top 100 charts.

The 6-track project which has edged other top singles out of the top 10 spot was released on Friday, 20th November 2020.

2baba, Olamide, Laycon, among many other music lovers shared their congratulatory messages on Twitter.

2Baba responded to Omah Lay’s reminiscent tweet where the artist reflected on his life a year ago. “This time last year I was holed up in my tiny room singing my guts out, not knowing if people would ever hear or even appreciate these songs,” he said.

“True talent no fit hide. Omah lay to the world!!! I humbly claim the title of #1 fan. Abeg make nobody follow me drag am,” 2Baba quoted his tweet with the above reply.

In response to 2Baba’s encomium, Omah lay replied the ‘legend’ saying, “I’m so humbled legend! Thanks for paving the way for all of us.”

Obviously feeling the new project, YBNL boss, Olamide quoted a line from one of the songs off the EP saying “This people want deflate my tyre. nobody fit relate. #WHWD.”

Likewise, Laycon twitted saying, ‘Congratulations bro!!! Thank God say God no dey Ungodly.’

Though the body of work has received widespread acceptance, some critics have projected that the EP would not dominate the chart like he did on his debut project, Get Layd.
