Veteran rapper DMX’s family contemplates taking him off life support


Veteran rapper, DMX, has remained in hospital since the 2nd of April where he was rushed to following a heart attack, reportedly brought on by a drug overdose.

According to sources close to the rapper, he is yet to regain brain function since his admission in hospital. This development has lead to DMX’s family contemplating taking the 50-year-old legend off life support.

After a series of tests on Wednesday, which showed no improvement in brain activity since he was first rushed to the hospital on Friday, April 2. X is still in a coma, and sources have said the test results were “not good.”

The rapper had had a long battle with substance abuse throughout his career— stretching back to the early ’90s. DMX had been in rehab shortly after serving time and being released from prison in early 2019.

Although, Rappers and the hip hop community shared their prayers for the “Ruff Ryders’ Anthem”-creator, Master P decried the lack of support X received after his prison release in 2019.

“DMX is an icon, and I just hate that we have to wait till something happens to one of these guys, or to one of us, before everybody really starts saying how much they care, and they love you,” Master P said.
