Victor Olaiya, Nigeria’s veteran highlife musician, has been laid to rest.
He was interred in Ikoyi, Lagos at the Vaults & Garden Cemetery.
Premium Times reports that it was a private ceremony with family and a few friends.

The late music icon died on February 12, at the Lagos University Teaching Hospital (LUTH), Lagos.
He was 89.
Known as a renowned trumpeter who played in high life style, he was famous in the 1950s and early 1960s.
He was once described as “The Evil Genius of Highlife.”
