The Grammys Postponed Until March 14th Due To COVID-19

The organising committee for the forthcoming 63rd Grammy Awards due to the second wave of COVID-19 spread across America.

The Grammys as previously announced was scheduled to happen on the 31st of January 2021. With just a few weeks to the event, an announcement has been made about its postponement.

The CChairman & CEO of the Recording Academy and his executives after due consultations with health experts have thought it necessary to shift the initial date.

The ceremony would now hold on 14th March, 2021.

Below is the CEOs statement below.

“After thoughtful conversations with health experts, our host and artists scheduled to appear, we are rescheduling the 63rd Annual GRAMMY Awards® to be broadcast Sunday, March 14, 2021.

The deteriorating COVID situation in Los Angeles, with hospital services being overwhelmed, ICUs having reached capacity, and new guidance from state and local governments have all led us to conclude that postponing our show was the right thing to do.

Nothing is more important than the health and safety of those in our music community and the hundreds of people who work tirelessly on producing the show.”

Meanwhile Nigerian singers Burna Boy and Wizkid have both been nominated in different categories for awards.
