Multiple award-winning Nigerian singer Yemi Alade shares the background story about getting to work with Beyonce on her ‘The Gift’ album.
According to Yemi Alade she nearly missed the opportunity to be on ‘The Gift’ album, this she revealed on the popular Ndani TV talk show The Juice. She eventually featured on two songs on the album, ‘Don’t Jealous Me’ and ‘My Power’.
Relaying the story to her listeners Yemi Alade mentioned that Beyonce’s team had reached out to her through her manager through emails for nearly two months but he ignored thinking it was a hoax. As luck would have it, while chatting with Taiye her manager he talked about getting emails from Beyonce’s team and by this time it was 2 weeks to the conclusion of the album project.
This happened while she was in Las Vegas, so she immediately moved to Los Angeles where the album recording was done.
