David Oyelowo Is First Black James Bond For The Audiobook Role


After playing the role of Martin Luther King in the film Selma, David Oyelowo becomes the new James Bond in the audio book recording of Trigger Mortis by Anthony Horowitz due to be released September 2015.


After getting a direct invitation from the estate of 007’s creator, Ian Fleming, David Oyelowo describes himself as “Very Honoured” and made the statement “I am officially the only person on planet Earth who can legitimately say: ‘I am the new James Bond’…even saying that name is the cinematic equivalent of doing the ‘to be or not to be’ speech.”

He will play the James Bond character but not to be seen rather to be heard in the audio book.

Down the history lane, David Oyelowo was the first black actor to play an English king in a major Shakespeare production as Henry VI for the Royal Shakespeare Company.

However, David Oyelowo went ahead to choose Idris Elba has been rip for the screen role of the James Bond Character
