22 year old American singer and songwriter, Christina Victoria Grimmie who stepped into lime light via her participation in the NBC singing competition “The Voice” is Dead. The youngster died at a local hospital in Orlando after suffering from gun shot wounds fired by a male suspect after she performed on stage.
According to E! News, her publicist “She was shot at her show in Orlando and, unfortunately, didn’t survive the gun shot wound. We ask at this time that you respect the privacy of her family and friends in their time of mourning”
The male suspect, Kevin James Loibl, 27 years old reportedly committed suicide after firing at the singer three times. Police reported that they could not question the shooter because he was already dead when they arrived the scene;
“Upon arrival officers found the male suspect, who was deceased and one victim who was gravely injured. That victim, singer Christina Grimmie, was transported to the hospital with critical injuries.”
In 2014, Grimmie took part in season 6 of The Voice and finished in third place. Adam Levine, her coach on the show, announced in the finale that regardless of the results he would sign her to his label 222 Records. Lil Wayne also offered to sign her to his label, Young Money Entertainment. She signed with Island Records for a short time before being dropped.
