Albums to watch out for this March

For the Nigerian music industry, the year 2021 is off to a good start with so much music in store.

We’ve seen really amazing albums released already while others are in the works, billed to drop sooner than later.

The month of January saw the music scene seem a bit slow and with minimal activity. But as the months progress, the tempo appears to be picking up.

January saw the release of a self-titled debut album from Mavin rising star, Ayra Starr.

Ayra Starr the album was very warmly received and earned Ms Starr a Headies nomination.

February on the other was quite a busy month, with album releases like Joeboy’s Somewhere Between Beauty and Magic, Mr Eazi’s Something Else, Ric Hassani’s The Prince I Became and Ckay’s Boyfriend.

Blaqbonez had promised to drop an album in February but eventually did not, due to reasons best known to him.

The month of March takes the momentum up a notch as we see a couple of albums lined up.

Niniola – 6th Heaven

Although this is not an album, it is Niniola’s third studio project and is slated for release on Friday 5th March 2021.

Dapo Tuburna – I Remember Everything

This is the debut body of work from the Tinny Entertainment signee. The EP is slated for release on the 19th March 2021.

Teni – Wondaland

This is the debut album from Teniola Apata, a.k.a Teni. The album took 2 years to record in 7 cities around the world.

The album release date is 19th March 2021.

Blackbonez – Sex > Love?

Black bonez had previously announced the release of his Sex>Love album in February, but for reasons best known to him the release did not happen.

The album might still drop this March though.

Multi-award winning producer, Sarz hinted at a possible release of new work when he tweeted “New Music month” on the 1st of March. Although he didn’t say if was a single or an album, we know to expect some music from.

Alte singer and rapper Santi has been in the studio for a minute and we won’t be surprised by a release date announcement soon. The forthcoming album spots a heavy lineup in terms of features and promises to be a thrill.
