The DG of Nigerians in Diaspora, Abike Dabiri, has promised to act fast on the release of Nigeria’s favorite acts, Omah Lay and Tems.
Omah Lay and Tems were both arrested and charged to court in Uganda. The charges against them was for breaking COVID-19 guidelines, officials say.
Nigerians have widely condemned their arrest and demand their immediate release.
Meanwhile, reacting to the current situation, Abike took to Twitter to announce that the Nigerian government is doing it’s best to get them out. Also, the foreign minister, Geoffrey Onyeama, is on the matter.
“FreeOmahLay #FreeTems. The Nigerian mission in Uganda is doing everything to get them freed.
“Minister @GeoffreyOnyeama has also been on the matter. @nidcom_gov is also in touch with their Lawyers.
“We must ensure we get them back home, safe and sound and fast #FreeOmahLay #FreeTems,” she twitted.
