Sema Tecino – Ragga Muffin Gurla


​Dublin Based Nigerian Artiste “SEMA TECINO”  resurfaces with this lovely song titled “RAGGA MUFFIN GURLA”,  Sema Tecino whose real names are “Gerald Olukunle Obidipe” hails from Ogun  State in the the South west of Nigeria , He  is popularly known as  Yago./Black Italian In Ireland. Sema TECINO Started out in a 5 man hip hop crew in Nigeria known as  brotherhood back in the late 90s.They were very popular on campus as they rocked most of d school shows including d prestigious MISS UNILAG 2000, Alongside greater groups like Trybsmen(Eldee) and x-appeal which consist jazzman olofin and others.

The group also had numerous shows to their credit including DTD LEKKI SUMMER JAM,RAY POWER GRANDSLAM with the late Steve Kadiri and Dennis Ogi, and also FANTA FUN HOUR on cool Fm radio with Tosyn Bucknor..just to mention a few. They eventually split up after college after which Sema Tecino traveled to Europe for personal reasons and started out a solo career.

 Based on past experiences, Sema continued  to be inspired and motivated by his role models and self determination… About himself he says ‘I make my own blend of music, combining elements from everything else….Hip Hop , Rap , Rnb, Jazz and Afrobeat…into what I call ”black Italian music”… A black Man with the swag of an Italian.

 In 2010 , Sema in collaboration with KAS released an afrobeat hit track called GBASIBE and shot a video for same. The track was launched at an event tagged ‘GBASIBE NITE’, an occasion that was graced  by Ruggedman. He also performed at notable shows like- D yahooze concert, the Bold and Beautiful Awards 07,08,09, Face Of Africa Ireland Beauty Pageant 09, Miss Nigeria Ireland 09, Miss Congo Ireland 09, Miss Southern Africa Ireland 09, the Nigerian Carnival in 2010, all in Dublin.   

His efforts also earned him a nomination in the ‘Most Popular Nigerian Music Video In Europe’ category at the ‘Nigerian Music Video Awards’ in 2012, which took place in Dublin. 
He released his debut single as a hip-hop gospel track around 2008 in Ireland, The song was  titled PRAY and it won the love of so many African Christians all across the country. From the message, to the style of the music…He produced  thousands of  copies and sold more than he expected from performing in different churches
