Bubbling Under | Pizzo Da Lyrical Praxis


Born Pizat Leonard Lepdung aka Pizzo da lyrical Praxis, aka EL-P, aka J town assassin, aka Zoobzy, is the 5th out of seven children from his father. Pizzo’s dream early in life was to become an astronaut, born and raised in the hoods of Jos; he was naturally influenced by his environment. Pizzo’s love for entertainment started at the early age of seven when together with his siblings sang and danced for Grace Y.

Pam’s gospel album which was a success in J town back then. Like most kids on the streets of Jos, Pizzo fell in love with Hip-hop and Basket ball, and after attending secondary schools in king’s college Lagos and St John Bosco college Doma, Pizzo was already into entertainment at the slightest chance he got during social nights in School “ I wrote my first rap in my first year at King’s college, I performed at my first social night in high School using a classroom locker as drums, it was so crazy that for the next one month in School, seniors took me around the dormitories on tour while my other mates were at labour”.

As a graduate of the Department of theatre and film arts from the University of Jos, Pizzo is a film and stage script writer, screen and stage actor, rapper, song writer, poet and dancer. As a bonfied member of  the J town Hip-Hop movement MudHuose, His underground buzz earned him the respect he deserves and he has gone ahead to record with Nigerian Heads such as Deepthot Tha Blaq Ego, Terry Tha Rapman, Pherowshuz, Naydo and is presently teaming up with Nigerian ace producer Tommy shields aka IIlfingherz to record an album. Due to recent happenings in Jos and the country at large; Pizzo’s musical compositions in recent times have become some form of social commentary. His influences in music includes greats like Fela Anikulapo Kuti, Bob Marley, Paul Simon, Michael Jackson, Black Mombazo, Nas, Tupac Shakur, Tha notorious B I G, Common, Dead Prez, talib Kweli, Mos def, Gangster, and Tha Roots. He also listens to Sade Adu, Bilal, Bella Fonte, Nina Simone, Kenny G, Enya, Lauryn Hill, Corrine Bailey Rae, Amy Winehouse, Asa, Estelle, Floetry, Proverb, Modenine, HHP and MI.

He believes that music is suppose to inspire, his hobbies are travelling, making friends, experiencing other cultures, reading history books, writing, listening to good music, healthy love making, and most importantly cookin.
