Check out upcoming Nigerian artist Ebun with her single “Mr. Postman”. Really luvin’ the smooth reggae feel its got. I can definitely have this jam on replay. Not to mention the sensible lyrics (which is slowly becoming more scarce)… On point!
Ebun was born Ashlie Trimnell in Iowa, U.S.A in 1989. Ebun began singing at the early age of 6 with a travelling Children Choir. Her wide vocal range and versaility allows her to traverse various musical genres from Opera to Rnb, Afro-beat and even mainstream popular music. Ebun performed at the Miss Nigeria Pageant in 2008. She also opened up for the Dynamix award in 2008. Ebun’s musical influences include India Arie, Asa, Mary J. Blige. The song Mr. Postman is the artists reflection on Nigerian society as she has had a chance of witnessing firsthand corruption from her many trips overseas, especially in Africa. As an artist who is conscious of her societal obligations, she hopes that the upcoming elections provide an opportunity for Nigerians to elect leaders worthy enough to fulfill the people’s expectations. The Track is produced by Tumbo.
