5 Positive Ways To Kick Start Your Day



Everyday you wake up is a blessing denied to many. It’s a new day with new opportunities, but sometimes it might not feel that way early in the morning. Getting out of bed and kick starting the day can be a grueling process for many, including myself. Between hitting the snooze button multiple times, grasping to any extra second of sleep, yawning over and over again, it’s hard to see how the day will be great at that moment.

However how we start our day can set to tone for the rest of the day, and ensure we don’t spend half the morning looking like we never wanted to get up in the first place. Here are 5 positive ways to kick start your day.

1. Spend some extra minutes in bed, and Meditate

Instead of tossing and turning around in bed, spend 2-3 mins and meditate. It could be saying a short prayer, or just taking deep breaths and being one with yourself.

This creates a sense of peace within and enables you to feel refreshed and ready for the day.

2. Stretch/Or a short exercise

If you decide to stretch it can take you just for 15-20 seconds every morning, try this before you open your eyes. Start with your arms and stretch your fingers, then your hand and your wrist. Also include your toes, ankles, feet and legs. End it with a back stretch that lets you get up from bed. I am sure you’ll like it.

If you decide to exercise, a mile walk or run will do. Or yoga.

3. A full glass of Water

This is for your physical being. A full glass water ensures that your system is ready to go and functions properly. It also aids in digestion and body detoxification will can only help your overall well being.

4. Eat a Good Breakfast

A lot of times, in the name of dieting or being in a hurry we tend to skip out on breakfast. This is a big big mistake as without a good breakfast you’re already running on low energy to start the day.

Breakfast is known as ‘the most important meal of the day’ for a very good reason. You need your blood sugar level at the good level to handle your physical and mental stress through the day. A good breakfast will have plenty of protein and fruit. Say no to “only coffee” breakfasts.

5. Write in a journal

Just like you need to exercise your muscle, your brain could do with a little workout too in the morning to increase mental self-awareness. It also helps you to get organized with what you plan to do in the day, or better yet help you reflect on the previous day and what the next day holds for you.

Writing once a day can help you feel focused, process negative emotions, and solve problems.
