The first month of the new year 2020 is almost finished and the music business is yet to get into full gear. While we await more music from our beloved artistes, there are some albums we’re hoping to have this year.
As it is, anticipation for certain albums from certain Nigerian artistes is on the high. Nigerians can’t wait to hear what Wizkid’s ‘Made In Lagos’ would sound like or perhaps if Tekno would deliver on his debut album. These forms the expectations of Nigerians as we look forward to what this year brings as per music and entertainment.
Jaguda has picked out some albums and EPs we ought to be looking out for. Some artistes have already declared they would drop projects this year and we should remind you again.
Mr Ayoleyi Hanniel Solomon widely known as Reekado Banks is an Afropop singer who kick-started his career at Mavin Records. He had a good run at his former label and then parted ways after 5 years of being with them. It would be four years in 2020 since Reekado Banks dropped ‘Spotlight‘, his debut album. Just like artistes’ do, Reeky promised and EP, cancelled and then promised an album instead. Unfortunately there was neither an EP nor an album from the melodious singer. Once again this January, Reekado Banks promised double for our trouble, a new EP and an album all from him to his fans. While the information is welcomed, we hope he comes through on this promise made. The title of his forthcoming projects are unclear as he has changed them over time.
