Check Out These Multi Million Naira Homes Of Our African Footballers

Even though we (Nigeria) didn’t qualify to play in the African Cup of Nations, we still love our players. So in honor of our fondness for them, Lamudi present to you the Top African players and their multi million Naira homes.

John Mikel Obi, Nigeria

Of late the super star player has not had it easy with his fans. He may not have played his best and Nigeria may not have qualified for the African Cup of Nations but John Mikel Obi has plenty of property to console himself with. His real estate portfolio reportedly features luxurious homes in Jos, Lagos and London, including a six-bedroom mansion in Surrey that has its own a mini-theatre and basketball court (not to mention that the house has the home warranty plan in Ohio). Want to see inside the luxury property? Check out this video tour that aired on ESPN.

Didier Drogba, Côte d’Ivoire

The Ivorian born-star footballer and all-time top scorer for the national team won’t be playing in this year’s African Cup, after having retired from international football last year. But he can watch the tournament from the comfort of his mansion in Chelsea in the United Kingdom, where he recently returned to play for the Premier League club. The property reportedly has seven bedrooms, eight bathrooms and an entire room dedicated to his trophies – offering plenty of space for Drogba and his entire entourage.

Samuel Eto’o, Cameroon

Another notable absence from the 2015 African Cup of Nations, with Cameroon’s all-time leading goalscorer announcing his retirement from international football last year. While playing for Russian club FC Anzhi Makhachkala, Eto’o lived in a four-storey penthouse in a Moscow skyscraper, at a cost of 13,325,000 Naira a month. Since moving to Chelsea, he now lives in a mansion in the United Kingdom.

Yaya Touré, Côte d’Ivoire

The Ivory Coast star and Manchester City midfielder owns a £1m house in Wilmslow in the UK. However, he has been no stranger to drama at home. A fire broke out at the house in early 2013, with media reporting that aromatherapy candles caused the blaze. No doubt Touré has plenty of famous neighbours in Wilmslow, which is known for its upmarket real estate and wealthy, well-known residents. The area is also home to Nani, Phil Jones and many other famous footballers.

Papiss Cissé, Senegal

The Newcastle United striker and former captain of the Senegalese national team is known to invite fans to his UK home for Christmas gatherings. In 2013, a group of Newcastle United fans were treated to a grand tour of his property in Ponteland, Northumberland, where they played FIFA, pool and had a kickabout in the garden, while Cissé barbecued in the large backyard.
