There were rumors last week but it’s pretty certain now that Nollywood actress, Uche Jombo has married her Puerto Rican lover, Kenney Rodriguez in a secret ceremony earlier this month. It was attended by good friend, Desmond Elliot.

Uche Jombo had initially denied the rumors, but finally confirmed a few days ago that she is indeed married.

We wish them the best in the future and a happy married life.

Well isn’t this interesting in a nollywood way. Nollywood stars Uche Jumbo & Van Vicker earlier today were detained by Bode Thomas police. They were on set shooting a movie when the arrests were made.

Uche tweeted while at the station “So we are at d bode thomas police station watching this whole * police location drama play out! #iWeepForNigeria”.

Later on it was revealed that they were arrested for the bad portrayal of the Nigerian Police force in their movies. They have been released.

Tonto Dike never ceases to surprise us. Here she takes on different role than what we’re used to seeing from her as she plays the role of a girl abroad with a lifestyle that eventually leads her to drugs, domestic abuse & HIV.

My Life, My Damage’ deals with the consequences of drug abuse and HIV/AIDS. A young lady who lives a reckless life abroad as a drug addict is given a rude shock when she discovers that she’s HIV positive and now has to seek redemption for herself.’

As their US promotional tour for the movie, DAMAGE, was coming to a close, Uche Jumbo & Tonto Dikeh came out one last time to meet with fans at Festac Ultra Lounge in New York City on October 30th.

VIP was bumping with music provided by DJ Tunez, champagne was flowing and the fans were ready to meet and most definitely greet Nollywood’s own superstars! But let’s rewind a little, back to the hotel (get your mind out the gutter! Lol!). I had the privilege of meeting up with the ladies before hand, did their make up and styled them in my clothing.

Uche Jumbo was up first! We went for a simple look nothing too heavy on her face. She opted for the peach corduroy dress, we paired it up with a choker style necklace & tear drop earrings. We flipped her hair back and she brought the rest to one side.

One thing was obviously on Uche’s mind once we stepped into the lounge and that was the music! I believe ‘Windeck’ was playing when we walked in and she was already getting down. (Peep the photograph above! That says it all!)

Next up was Tonto Dikeh!  She wanted a simple look also complete with a ‘nude’ lip color, which she was applying at this point. I knew she would appreciate the lace backless dress to show off her new tattoo, which she got done in Houston and sat  several hours for. (Kudos to her because I’m such a punk when it come to needles so getting a tattoo is not exactly high on my list of things to do… just yet!). We also pulled her hair back just as she wanted.

Both ladies were happy to meet and take pictures with anyone that wanted one. Uche even came down to the dance floor to show us ladies how to drop it like its hot!

These two ladies had no problem letting loose and I guess it had to do with the fact that it was their last full night in the States promoting the movie. The previous night they were in ATL with fans and the night before that in Houston, so you can imagine the great feeling of accomplishment they had.

Uche, who is the producer of the movie, DAMAGE, and plays the lead role alongside Kalu Ikeagwu, talked of how she wanted to bring awareness to domestic violence and the affects it has on the children brought up in such an environment. She even did community service in New Jersey to talk about domestic violence.

In the end, it was pleasure to work with these two women who work as hard as they do and are just as passionate about their job as actresses. Tonto said (not verbatim but) she likes to watch herself in movies so she knows how to do better in future movies. I call that sharpening your skills which is never a bad thing.

It’s no surprise that Uche Jumbo’s Movie, Damage has been catching a lot of buzz, and for those in the USA, we finally get to have the movie premiere, in New York.

Great weekend to host this, as it’s also the Nigerian Independence Day Parade weekend.

The Damage Movies’ is a divergent assortment of 3 stories (Damage, My Life My Damage, My Country Their Damage) that addresses the issues of domestic violence, drug abuse/HIV Aids and Human trafficking respectively.

The first, Damage deals with the psychological effects of domestic violence on women and children. The second, My Life, My Damage’ follows a young lady who lived a reckless life of drug abuse and now has to face the damning consequences of contracting HIV/AIDs. The last, ‘My Country, Their Damage’ highlights the issue of Human Trafficking.

This is a must see movie; it’s unlike any other Nollywood movie… the production is impeccable and up to international standards, and the individual story-lines are packed with profound tales that promises to leave one yearning for more.

Check out the trailer for the nollywood movie, Damage starring Uche Jumbo, Tonto Dike & Kalu Ikeagwu. From the trailer, this seems like a movie that’ll be on the list of must-watch movies this year. The movie is set to premiere in July

Below is a mini-synopsis of the movie:

‘The Damage Movies’ is a collection of three distinct but interwoven stories.
Aimed at advocacy for social issues, each story addresses important problems affecting individuals, families and societies at large.

Damage deals with the issue of domestic violence and the psychological effect it could have especially on the children. A man and his wife love each other immensely yet their day to day life can only be described as a ‘cat and mouse’ situation as they fight violently almost on a daily basis.
