According to Daily Independent, a person disguising to be the Nigerian singer Tiwa Savage has duped a Lagos State politician of N500.000. Mr Segun Adewale who belongs to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) senatorial candidate for Lagos West in the forthcoming 2015 election and his also the Managing Director of Lagos-based travel agency, Aeroland Travels.

The rather smart impersonator duped the politician and Businessman of the above mentioned amount after paying fake Tiwa Savage to perform at his organised event. He noticed there was something wrong after the real Tiwa Savage did not make it to the event let alone perform. However, Mr Adewale further monitored the fake account to see if the money is still untouched but sadly it has been swept off by the unknown scam

2015….just the 3 of US.. #AllGloryToGod’

In every year there’s a slew of wedding songs released, and 2014 is no different. Earlier in the year we put out a post for the top 5 wedding songs for 2014, and now that the year is over we are putting out the top wedding song released in 2014.

These songs are songs we predict will be significant wedding hits in 2015. So before it becomes too cliché to use it, you have first dibs. You’re welcome.

1. Tiwa Savage – My Darlin

Tiwa Savage’s My Darlin is barely 4 months old, but it’s already getting popular on radio and TV airwaves and the likes. The natural next natural step is weddings. The wedding themed video tells you all you need to know.

2. Flavour – Gollibe

It was released in his Thankful album just last november, and it’s already being played at weddings in the east. Flavour’s music and weddings go hand in hand like rice and stew, fish and chips, beans and platains… You get the point.

3. Ojoro Justice – My Size

There are songs that are hidden gems and this tune by Ojoro Justice is one of them. Everything about what a bride would want to hear on her wedding day is played out in ‘My Size

4. Sean Tizzle – Perfect Gentleman

Sean Tizzle’s album, The Journey contains a slew of hits, and this song Perfect Gentleman is one of them, and more especially a hit for the weddings.

5. Davido – Aye

Arguably the biggest hit of 2014, Davido’s Aye spells out lyrics for undiluted pure innocent love. Without the concerns of money and material things. Noble lyrics, but does it really apply? No one cares, we love love, so it does the job for weddings.

6. Yemi Alade – Kissing

Me and You, sitting on tree, K-I-S-S-I-N-G. I mean wetin else you wan hear from le boo on the wedding day? Yemi Alade’s Kissing is one of the most slept one wedding songs of the year, but not too worry, I predict 2015 will be a big year for it.

7. Mavins – Adaobi

This might be a surprise to some since it comes off as a club hit, but it can double up as a solid wedding song. High tempo, sweet but simple lyrics, and enough diversity from the artists that everyone has a favorite part. Tune!

8. WizKid – One Question

WizKid has a wedding song every year, and this one is the one for 2014. In an album that has a lot of similar sounding songs, One Question with Yemi Sax stands out a bit as the one song we can play at weddings going into 2015.

9. Patoranking – Happy Day

Just get Patoranking to performing this wedding tune “Happy Day” at your coming wedding events and see the glory of love in this hot wedding tune from the next rated award winning reggae music star.

10. Pasuma Wonder | IFE Ft. Tiwa Savage

Fuji music star, Alabi Pasuma Wonder strong entry into the Nigerian hip-hop & RnB music with a classic love song IFE with another fashioned. Deep Yoruba love song backed with Tiwa Savage strong high singing voice. Hope he comes back with another hit love song we can enjoy in 2015.

Here’s the video to Dr SID’s album cut, Oyari. It features the lovely Tiwa Savage. The songh was featured on his 2013 album, Siduction.

Interesting fact: Even though they are both on the same label, and have been for about 3 years, it’s the first song they’ve collaborated on together. Turned out pretty nice yea?

The video was shot in Johannesburg South Africa, produced by Mavin Records and directed by Nic Roux

Dr SID Oyari! Enjoy!

I’m loving this new trend of dropping songs, and music videos fairly quickly. More artists need to do that.

Here’s the new video for the just recently released single from Bracket, Alive. It features Diamond Platnumz, and Tiwa Savage. The video pretty much tells the story of Vast’s battle with cancer over the past couple of years, and his recovery. It’s an experience that will definitely make you thank God that you’re alive. It’s not easy at all.

We thank God for life! Check on it… It’s Bracket Alive Video!

Brand new tune from the good folks, Bracket just in time for the holiday season. This one is titled, Alive and features Mavins front lady, Tiwa Savage and Tanzanian star Diamond Platnumz.

The song rings a lot of meaning especially seeing as Vast underwent treatment for cancer not too long ago. If not for God we really no for dey alive.

Bracket Alive! Check on it.

It’s about that time again people. We’re here at the end of 2014, and ready to give you the top 40 most downloaded nigerian songs of 2014 right here on Jaguda.com. This doesn’t include singles not released officially (album cuts)

So most downloaded meaning, downloaded on jaguda.com and not the entire internet even though you can possibly see the trend. WizKid has the highest showing with an outstanding 5 songs in the chart, while Olamide has or is featured in a total of 8. Dija comes in as a surprise in the 20s.

We’ve run this quarterly all year(1st Quarter, 2nd Quarter, 3rd Quarter), and so you can get a good indication which songs will be higher up on the list but something we’ve noticed is how some song pick up steam after videos are released e.g. Shoki by Lil Kesh, and Show You The Money by WizKid. Without going into too much gist let’s get right into it.

It’s that time of the year once again, and a chance to look back and reflect on the year that has been. Youtube just released a list of the most viewed music videos in Nigeria for the year 2014, and it pretty shows the hit songs we all expected with a few surprises.

A look at Nigerian music favourites for 2014 reveals that while Nigerians joined the global community in catching Nicki Minaj’s Anaconda “bug”, it is music from top Nigerian stars that kept us dancing through the year. Topping other equally popular videos like ‘Dorobucci’ by Mavins, ‘Wanted’ by Tiwa Savage, ‘Ikwokrikwo’ by Flavour and ‘Surulere’ by Dr. Sid to become the most watched musical video in Nigeria in 2014 is the widely popular track ‘Aye’ by Davido. Note-worthy is the fact that ‘Anaconda’ was the only track on the list that isn’t nigerian.

1. Davido – Aye

2. MAVINS – DOROBUCCI ft Don Jazzy, Tiwa Savage, Dr SID, D’Prince, Reekado Banks, Korede Bello, Di’Ja

3. Nicki Minaj – Anaconda

4. Tiwa Savage – Wanted

5. Flavour – Ikwokrikwo

6. Dr SID – SURULERE ft Don Jazzy

7. Yemi Alade – Johnny

8. Davido ft Mafikizolo – “Tchelete (Goodlife)”

9. P Square – Taste the Money (Testimony)

10. Patoranking – Girlie ‘O’ Remix ft. Tiwa Savage

We’re on day 3 of our countdown of the Top 20 Hottest Nigerian Artists of 2014. We’re officially into the top 10.

If you haven’t been following, you can catch up by checking out the post from the past 2 days, and see who made the list from 20 down to 11:

10. Patoranking

Reggae act, Patoranking has been around for while, grinding and putting in work, and this year it finally paid off big time. His 2013 single Alubarika with Timaya shot him up to the front screens, and his 2014 single Girlie O (original and remix with Tiwa Savage) made him a hit in mainstream music.

It didn’t stop there though, as he was a huge part of other big singles of the year, Emergency by WizzyPro and Murda by Seyi Shay, and dropped a few other singles and freestyles along the year, most notably, Bora.

It’s been a massive year for him, and his Headies Next Rated award nomination is very well deserved. He’s definitely a top 10 act of the 2014. No doubt.

9. Kcee

KCee 502

Kcee Mr Limpopo has had enough hot singles now that we can shed that “Mr Limpopo” tag off his name, or add “Mr Pull Over” and “Mr Fine Face” to it. He’s done well to prove to a lot of folks that his Limpopo hit was not a fluke and is maximizing his 2nd time in the limelight (after his stint with his group KC and Presh).

The impact of his 2013 singles Limpopo and Pull Over are still heavily felt in 2014. Just ask any DJ. He’s had a great 2 years accented with his album, “Take Over” which also saw singles Ogaranya, and Ogadinma. To add to his red hot catalog he dropped Fine Face which obviously is a ladies favorite. So much so that he did 2 videos for it.

All in all it’s hard to think 2014 nigerian music without thinking Kcee.

8. The Mavins

_MG_2126 Mavins UK Concert_Airport Arrival_18 Oct 2014_Daniel Sync PR

Yes it’s hard to put them as a recording unit, but when you have arguably the hottest single of the year in Dorobucci, and an almost as hot tune Adaobi we have to put you in as a unit. Plus they put out 2 other singles together (Looku Looku, and Arise), so really Mavins is a recording group.

The Mavins lead by Don Jazzy and including Dr SID, Tiwa Savage, D’Prince, Korede Bello, Dijo and Reekado Banks captured the whole nation with their infectious tune Dorobucci. The song spurn off several covers, and became something like a mainstream slang. The follow up single Adaobi though not as hot still is a solid single in its own right.

You can argue with this, but it was going to be extremely hard to exclude these cats as one the hottest in 2014.

7. Tiwa Savage

Tiwa Savage carried a lot of her momentum from her 2013 album release (Once Upon A Time) into 2014; more specifically her infectious tune, Eminado. But it doesn’t stop there… Who can forget the highly controversial video for her single, Wanted that got the internet having seizures for days.

She followed all that up with singles, My Darlin, Key To The City, and Love In Yellow. She’s also had a slew of features most notably Girlie O remix with Patoranking, and that’s not even counting her work with The Mavins.

All in all it’s been a great year for Tiwa Savage. From numerous awards, a great wedding, hit singles, and great videos, it’s been a year to remember for Tiwa Savage. We suspect there’s more to come in 2015.

6. WizKid

WizKid has had a very adventurous year to say the least. He’s had numerous singles, an album, Ayo, that didn’t sit well with critics despite its commercial success, and more drama than a soap opera.

But WizKid is still WizKid and he’s had a solid year with hit club singles Bombay, In My Bed, Show You My Money, Roll It Remix with Akon, One Question, On Top Your Matter and numerous features including floating his own imprint Star Boy.

From the list of tunes you can see that WizKid has enough club hits this year to last a solid hour of partying. His album did commercially well reaching #1 on iTunes chart, and despite his beef with Davido, Samklef and Saeon, he’s had a year a lot of people will remember… and for his music.

It’s at the tail end folks. That’s all for today folks. Be sure to check back tomorrow for the continuation (5-1).

Who do you think will be in the top 5?

Maheeda is one entertainer in Nigeria that embraces controversy anytime it comes her way. She’s been known for her very racy and raunchy pictures, video, and performances on social media, but in an interview with Enconium magazine she opens up about her marriage, her gospel music past, her issues with Afro Candy, and the talk of jealousy between her and Tiwa Savage.

Here are some of answers she gave:

You were once a gospel artiste, what happened?

I think what happened was just spiritual maturity.  At a stage in your life, you have to take a break and grow up or else everything will just be wrong.  I needed to grow spiritually.  Christians call it born again.  I am standing in the gap not for Christians or for Muslims.

At the point you attained spiritual maturity, did it work?

It worked.  I just discovered a light because in every light there is a greater light.  Some Christians just stop halfway, that is why they remain poor but you have to make something out of it.  You need to study well if you really need something and God will show you how to make it.

You sound very religious?

Yeah, of course, I am religious because I still believe in God and nobody can take that away from me.  Jesus is the best thing that happened to my life.

Do you belong to any religious sect?

No.  This Sunday I go to Christ Embassy, next Sunday I go to House on the Rock or even Redeemed.  I am just anywhere Jesus is.  When it comes to my music, I am in the middle because I have fans that are Christians, Muslims, lesbians and gays.

As a born again, it appears you don’t have a problem exposing your body.  Why is that?

True, I don’t have a problem doing that but I think it is because of my job and I know most Christians won’t understand it.  But I just believe that this is what I have to do, to get attention, especially when it comes to my job and I just believe His grace is enough for me.  He loves me more than my ‘nakedness’. If you see God as a Father because He sees you as a daughter, I would not because of your nakedness want to ruin you or kill you.  That is how I see God.  He understands me.  He hates me but He loves me at the same time.

I understand you are married, are you still with your husband and does he support your career?

I am still very much in my marriage and my husband does not have any problem with what I am doing. He supports me.

Can you tell us a bit about your husband?

I am sorry, I am leaving him out of this conversation because that is what he wants and I respect his decisions.

In your recent video, Naija Bad Girl, why were you naked?

I did the video naked because I want people including the media to talk about it and that is happening already.

Are you thinking of promoting ‘porn’ through your video?

No, I am not but maybe I am promoting it in a different way.  My intention is for people to talk and to get more attention and I did it and got what I wanted.

From observations, it was discovered that there is a kind of rivalry between yourself and Afrocandy.  What is going on?

I really don’t know, maybe she feels threatened.  I used to feel threatened as well, it is normal. Sometimes I feel jealous of Muna, Tiwa Savage.  I feel like why are you having all those things which I don’t have.  It is just normal but it is the ability to control it that really matters.

So tell us, where do you make your money?

(Laughs) I make my money from shows, invitations.  Some people invite me and I get paid just to sit down and drink, take pictures for birthday parties, weddings and many more.  Sometimes, I perform, sometimes I don’t. I also do modelling. In Holland, I did two modelling jobs, one cost about N2 million and the other was close to a million naira.

What kind of modelling do you do?

I am into nude modelling and sculpture modelling where one is moulded naked.

It seems you have not learnt from your past (having a baby early, being an orphan and also going into prostitution), with the way you have been parading yourself?

Sober?  I have come to that point of my life where I don’t judge people.  The way you learn is different from the way I learn.  The way you see things is also different from the way I see things.  If you think someone is doing something the wrong way, why not pray for them instead of criticizing them, because the more you criticize in bad faith, the more you are destroying them.

Bottomline is that we are not all the same.  Maybe this is my own way of learning.  I may not learn the way you did, just give me time because you never know what will happen at least.  When there is life, there is hope.

Don’t you think what the critics are saying should change you?

I would say no, because I don’t think what they say would make me stop what I am doing.  So, what they are saying would not stop me from doing what I am doing.  I will keep moving forward until I get to a stage where they have nothing to say again. Most of my critics are down below talking and I am up there.  So, if they want me to listen they should come up there, so we can rub minds.

Despite the fact that you go nude to gain attention for your music career, it seems not to be paying off.  Is it because you’re not there yet?

One thing people don’t understand is that, I am a showbiz girl.  If music is not paying, modelling will.  If that does not pay, acting would pay.  And if they are all not paying, I would move into something else because I don’t give up.

What is your beauty routine like?

It is supposed to be sleeping a lot, drinking lot of water and also eating fruits and vegetables but I am not really doing it because I have been busy and not really working except I’m on holidays which is very rare.

How do you relax?

Having good sex with my husband.  Massage also helps.

Check out the brand new video from Mavin Records & 323 Entertainment act, Tiwa Savage. The song is for her latest single, My Darlin. Produced by Don Jazzy and Directed Kemi Adetiba.

It’s interesting to see Tiwa Savage play the role of Mommy at the beginning. LOL. Even though she still looks very young, her prayer before the video starts is hilarious, and classic of what Mommies do.

Enjoy the video. It’s a good one. Tiwa Savage My Darlin.
