I enjoyed this remix when it dropped couple of weeks ago, watch the official video featuring Davido and Phyno.
Lovely Video, directed by Adasa Cookey. Enjoy!
Just a few days after Reminisce went on a lil spill over being called a “local rapper”, he drops a tune with Olamide and Phyno titled Local Rappers.
In terms of the idea of the song, it’s a solid A+. But we all know it doesn’t end with the idea. The execution has to be on point.
The production, beat and use of that sample in the song by Tyrone is dope. The melody and vibe of the song just as nice.
Seemed like a lot of bragging with little about the idea of the “local rapper”. Reminisce held it down the most even if it wasn’t his best ever.
However the verses from all 3 rappers on the track left much to be desired. Reminisce, Olamide & Phyno are all dope MCs, but collectively this was not their best showing.
Overall it’s a song that will live in memory for the concept, and the dope beat. It’s also solid enough to enjoy when in the mood. I would’ve loved to see Efa, Morell, Classiq or Morell on it also.
Does it make my playlist? Most def, without a doubt.
“Word Play O Jawo Mo”

It’s about that time again people. We’re here at the end of 2014, and ready to give you the top 40 most downloaded nigerian songs of 2014 right here on Jaguda.com. This doesn’t include singles not released officially (album cuts)
So most downloaded meaning, downloaded on jaguda.com and not the entire internet even though you can possibly see the trend. WizKid has the highest showing with an outstanding 5 songs in the chart, while Olamide has or is featured in a total of 8. Dija comes in as a surprise in the 20s.
We’ve run this quarterly all year(1st Quarter, 2nd Quarter, 3rd Quarter), and so you can get a good indication which songs will be higher up on the list but something we’ve noticed is how some song pick up steam after videos are released e.g. Shoki by Lil Kesh, and Show You The Money by WizKid. Without going into too much gist let’s get right into it.
The top 40 most downloaded nigerian songs of 2014.
3. Davido – Aye
17. Kcee – Fine Face
22. Dija – Yaro
23. Mavins – Adaobi
26. Timaya – Sanko

We’re finally here at the end of the series for the Top 20 Hottest Nigerian Artists of 2014.
If you haven’t been following, let’s do a quick recap from 20-6
Someone told me last year that Yemi Alade could be the hottest female artist in 2014, and I nodded my head like “Yea..Ok… sure”… and here we are towards the end of 2014 and you can say she’s arguably been the hottest female act through the past 12 months.
Her single Johnny, released late 2013, took her to a whole new level, and she followed that up with Tangerine, Kissing, My Head O, and best of all, The Johnny french remix – which introduced her to a continental francophone crowd – all leading up to her debut album, King Of Queens. The album got good reviews and has solidified her as one the leading female acts not just in Nigeria but in West Africa. You might not agree, but this is just the plain truth.
Anyway you slice it, you gotta agree that Asa has had an outstanding year. She stands right now as one of the best exports of Nigerian music to the world. Even if she doesn’t have the mainstream popularity like some others within Nigeria, she is no doubt one of the hottest in Nigerian music.
Her album, Bed of Stone, was received very well by critics, still high up in the charts, and spun off some solid singles, Dead Again, The One That Never Comes, and Satan Be Gone. For most good music lovers, Asa’s Bed Of Stone is an essential, and it’s for the sheer quality of music it has. If there’s one Nigerian artist of our generation that could steal a grammy award, it’s Asa.
Phyno took 2014 by the neck, and squeezed it out for all its juice. The swagged up igbo speaking rap star took his red hot fire from 2013 straight into 2014, and put out his debut album, No Guts No Glory at the best possible time he could come out with it. The album has been in heavy rotation since its release and its up there with the best albums of 2014.
Phyno has become one of the most popular names in Nigerian entertainment over the past year with singles, Alobam, Parcel, Authe, Man Of The Year, O Set to his name, and that’s just scratching the surface. He’s been on almost every hot feature, shows, endorsements, award nominations etc. You can really put a claim for Phyno being the artist of the year, but for us he’s at a solid #3.
The hardest working person in Nigerian entertainment without a doubt, Olamide has put out an extraordinary 4 albums in 4 years with the release of Street OT this past November, and he has show very little signs of slowing down. Year after year, hit after hit, Olamide has found a way to stay hot, fresh, and have some of the biggest hits each year.
This year alone, Olamide has directly had a hand in several hits including Awon Goons Mi, Story For The gods, Eleda mi, and Lil Kesh’s Shoki. With his 2013 album Baddest Guy Ever Liveth still buzzing heavily and in preparation for his 2014 album release, there hasn’t been a time this year where Olamide wasn’t hot. To top it all off, his latest album Street OT was #1 on the iTunes world chart before its release.
Really is there any argument with this? Davido has been the hottest artist of the year since 2014 rolled in. It all started with his tune of the year, Aye, adding to the fire he was packing from his 2013 hit, Skelewu. Davido came into this year with all guns blazings.
With the singles he already released plus some additional ones Naughty with DJ Arafat, a feature on Shoki remix, Tchelete with Mafikizolo, Davido saw his profile rise astronomically on a global scale raking in international award nominations and wins (BET Awards, MOBO), rumors of collaborations with some notable international acts, and sold out shows all over the continent.
Any way you slice it, and even though he doesn’t have an album this year, Davido has been the hottest artist of the year.
Brymo – 2 great albums in a 12 month span is hard to ignore
Eva Alordiah – Eva still holds it down as one of the fiercest femcees in the game. Her self titled EP is further proof of that.
Wande Coal – His tune Baby Hello is something like an anthem this year.
Lil Kesh – When you have one of the songs of the year it’s hard to leave you out.
So there you have it people. The top 20 hottest artists of 2014 put together by the great team at Jaguda.com, and additional contributors. Do you agree with the artists on here? Yes? No? What’s yours? Let’s here it.

It has been recently rumoured that Rita Edmond an upcoming female vocalist is pregnant for Phyno. She explained to The Sun Newspaper that the pregnancy rumoured in some way boasted her career and she’s not in an affair with Phyno. Read her interview below.
How did the Pregnancy Rumour Affect your Life?
The Phyno saga actually hit me like a ton of bricks! I had no idea where the story came from. It was so embarrassing. People kept calling to ask if I was actually pregnant for Phyno. The news was everywhere.
It went viral on social media. Honestly, I laughed when the first person mentioned it. I thought it was just a joke until she told me it was a hot item in the news. I was shocked when I saw my picture and Phyno’s on social media stating the heartbreaking rumour. I actually cried because of the dirt on my image as a young lady. But I have put it behind me and moved on
Are you trying to avoid the relationship issue?
I never dated Phyno and I don’t intend to go into a romantic relationship with him. But, he is a nice and handsome guy even if I have a crush on him; it will be because of his style of music.
What if Phyno decides to ask you out?
Let him come and ask me out then we will find out (laughter).
How did the rumour affect your career?
It affected my career positively. People were happy because Phyno is loved by many. In fact, I won’t mince words because the experience opened doors for me. Wherever I go, before I say Jackie Robinson, people ask ‘Are you Rita Edmond, Phyno’s girlfriend?’ And I tell them that no, I am Rita Edmond but I am not dating Phyno. They give me preferential treatment whereever I go. It has actually helped me to make meaningful friendships in the entertainment industry.
Are you in a relationship?
Honestly, I have someone in my life but it is my private life. Most people have been asking on social media if the guy in the video of Lovy Lovy is my man. Let me state here categorically that he is not my boyfriend but a model
