It’s about that time again people. We’re here at the end of 2014, and ready to give you the top 40 most downloaded nigerian songs of 2014 right here on Jaguda.com. This doesn’t include singles not released officially (album cuts)

So most downloaded meaning, downloaded on jaguda.com and not the entire internet even though you can possibly see the trend. WizKid has the highest showing with an outstanding 5 songs in the chart, while Olamide has or is featured in a total of 8. Dija comes in as a surprise in the 20s.

We’ve run this quarterly all year(1st Quarter, 2nd Quarter, 3rd Quarter), and so you can get a good indication which songs will be higher up on the list but something we’ve noticed is how some song pick up steam after videos are released e.g. Shoki by Lil Kesh, and Show You The Money by WizKid. Without going into too much gist let’s get right into it.

Happy Friday people! This week I’ll be hoping on tunes from 2 artists on opposite spectrum of the popularity scale, but nonetheless still talented acts.

Let’s not get into too much story.

Fuse ODG – Dangerous Love ft. Sean Paul

MOBO award winner, Fuse ODG has been arguably one of Africa’s biggest exports in terms of music over the last couple of years, and his tunes Antenna and Azonto have reached ridiculous heights. Based on the huge amount of success he’s had I thought that maybe this new joint wouldn’t live up to high standards set by his previous singles. I was wrong.

Dangerous Love, which features Jamaican Dancehall King, Sean Paul is everything the song was meant to be and then some. The beat by Di Genius & KillBeatz is solid, the quality is top notch, the lyrics are exactly what they are meant to be to get you in the groove and follow along. Simply put, the song was designed to get you happy and dancing, and it does just that.

It’s yet to be seen if it’ll be as infectious as Antenna and Azonto, but it has all the makings of it.

Rating: 9/10

Listen Here

CJ Mama – Sisi Jojo ft. Dwana

CJ Mama didn’t win the Glo Rock n Rule music competition by mistake, and it shows very much so in this new joint, Sisi Jojo.

A nice tempo, highlife-makossa hybrid, the song has very playful lyrics that is very easy to enjoy. The production by Reflex Soundz complements the lyrics of the song very, and everything comes together pretty well.

The song does get a bit monotonous as it goes on and it’s not a song that will particularly ‘wow’ you per say, but it’s good enough to remember and add to the playlist. It can only get better from here on out for CJ Mama.

Rating: 7.5/10

GTcrea8 concert

Wande Coal headlined at GTBank’s free concert for students on Friday 15th November 2013 and did not disappoint.

The black diamond had the crowd dancing the night away to his big hits from back in days to the present. While the crowd were shaking and bouncing Wande brought out a surprise guest to perform one of the biggest Afrobeats hits of the year.

Fuse ODG took to the stage as the two stars performed a remix of the international hit “Antenna” and the crowd went wild.

Other stars who performed are Dizzy VC, DRB Las Gidi, Lola Rae and Honey B who all gave equally electrifying performances.
