ENDIA Released “Me and My Guys” few hours back, here is behind the scenes making the single. Watch!

Sometimes you hear a song so effortless, so easy, that it speaks for itself.
Grip Muzik is proud to present Endia’s new song Me and My Guyz.
Produced by Chopstix, the song is driven by a thrumming synthetic bass and strong percussions.

“This song is many things to me. It’s a prayer for better things to come. It’s a reflection on the journey so far. And it’s a statement that nothing and no one will stand in our way. We gonna get there. Me and My guys.” – Endia

Me and My Guys is sweet muzik. Turn the lights off, turn the volume up, and let the music carry you away.

GRIP Boy, Endia, drops this new joint, Me and My Guyz to let everyone know that he’s still very much around. The joint is produced by ChopStix as you might expect, and you already know they do their thing very well today.

We’re still awaiting a project from him either along with his GRIP Music crew (Yung L, ChopStix) or a solo effort. When that might happen we’re not sure, but we can anticipate right? For now we’ll make do with new joint.

Check on it. Endia Me and My Guyz.

Happy friday people! Another friday, and yet another time to check on review 2 of the songs that were released over the past week. It’s crazy we have to pick 2 out of the many released in a week. Just shows you how much music we put out each week.

This week we welcome back, Mo’Cheddah :) and take a look at a new joint from producer ChopStix.

Mo’Cheddah – Destinambari ft. Phyno

Mo’Cheddah made a reappearance into music after close of 2 years of not releasing a record, and she did so pretty well. Linking up with Phyno and Cobhams, one couldn’t ask for a better team to work with on this single.

The single shows a softer tone from Mo’cheddah, and lyrically it reminds us of when she was at KnightHouse. The Indian movie references in the lyrics made the song easier to relate to and vibe with, and overall the melody and feel of the song is great.

I did think maybe Phyno should’ve had a longer or maybe a second showing in the song, but I wont complain too much. For a comeback single, it does very well for Mo, and lets us know that she’s not done and out yet.

Rating: 8/10

Chopstix – Stinking Shit ft. Yung L, Endia and Ice Prince

This song is pretty much a GRIP Musik reunion without J-Milla (who has been missing but that’s another story). It’s adds to the long list of tracks from the team and Ice Prince.

The beat of the song is solid as we’ve come to expect from ChopStix, but the showings from Yung L and Ice Prince are pretty average. It’s not the best we’ve heard from them, and we know they are very capable of doing much better. It’s not bad, but it’s not something I’ll be jumping hoops over like I would’ve done. Endia did well to raise the level tho.

Overall it’s a decent song (though it gets monotonous towards the end), and I can rock with it.

Rating: 7/10

chopstix stinking shit

ChopStix has turned into a big name producer on the Nigerian scene, and it’s been a very long time coming. He drops a new tune, Stinking Shit which features he comrades Yung L, Endia and Ice Prince.

It’s grip music baby! Chopstix Stinking Shit!

Chopstix presents new music off his Parallax Album: Stinking Shit!
The track features Ice Prince, Yung L & Endia dropping verses over the banging Chopstix produced beat.

“The Parallax album is about the different sides to me, and how these different perceptions are the product and origin of my art. For this song, Ice Prince, Yung L, Endia and myself just got into the studio, without a plan or an idea, and by morning, had managed to produce this beauty. I wouldn’t classify this as hip hop, or dancehall. It’s simply good music.”
-Chopstix.

The Parallax album drops in November 2014 and features appearances from various international artistes.

burna-boy1

The song leaked to the internet yesterday evening, and word is that it was supposed to be the theme song for MTV Shuga.

Seeing that it didn’t make it, I guess it found its way to the internet. I mean Burna Boy, Endia, Yung L, Eva, and Sarkodie all on a track cant be a miss right? Check on it.

The ambient atmosphere of Bheerhugz Cafe, Ikeja City Mall venue of the event provided the perfect setting as one of Nigeria’s urban youthful magazine, Tush Magazine held it’s Autograph and Photograph session with its Issue 6 cover page personalities and featured artistes in a special event tagged ‘Meet & Greet’.

tush-magazine-autograph-photo-session-eGistonline (21)

The event had Emma Nyra, Endia, Od Woods, Butafly, amongst others as they doled out free Autographed Tush Magazine Issue 6 to their fans and Tush Magazine’s readers.

Put together by Tush Kingdom Media  and Yanga Media Networks, ‘Meet & Greet’ is an event that connects fans/readers and lovers of Nigeria young artistes to their favourite artistes.

Speaking after the event, Anslem Jon (Editor, Tush Magazine Nigeria) “We feel grateful and honoured having such a successful event in Nigeria, where the Autographs  ideology is still quite growing.  We are making arrangements to spread the event to other parts of Nigeria so more youths can have signed copies of their favourite acts”.

As with the past couple of years(2012, 2013) we’re going to delve into giving you the albums and projects from artists that are the most anticipated going into 2014 or rather those you should look forward to.

2013 gave us a nice collection of albums, some expected, some unexpected, some lived up to expectations, and others not so much. 2014 is no different, but we’ll attempt to bring this to you based on what we know going into the new year.

chidinma-EKILE

Chidinma – TBA

We have gotten confirmation from her label execs that yes there will be an album from Ms Kedike in 2014, and you have to say hers is probably one of the most anticipated for any female artist in Nigeria. She’s had a couple of very solid singles over the past year including Oh Baby, Kite, Jollie, and Bless My Hustle which features Phyno. With the buzz she has going, one has to say a lot of us are definitely looking forward to her album.

DAMMY-KRANE ON STAGE.,.,.,

Dammy Krane – TBA

From all accounts we were supposed to get an album from Dammy Krane in 2013 but somehow that didn’t work out. However he did drop one of the hotter jams of 2013 in Xteristics, and in addition to that released Lobatan & Gratitude. You gotta feel that if he doesn’t drop something this year we just might get tired of anticipating… unless of course he drops another hot jam.

YUNG L(1)

Endia & Yung L – TBA

I have both of them because we might get a joint GRIP Musik project or solo projects from one or both of them this year. Nothing has been set in stone as far as I know, but I get the feeling we’ll get to enjoy a very solid project from the GRIP Musik camp this year. MA2G maybe? It’s only almost 4 years late. Chopstix has been blazing beats all of 2013, Endia’s name has been buzzing since his single 48 and Yung L’s Red Rose is still on fire. It’s about that time yea?

MI
MI

MI Abaga – The Chairman

From all accounts MI Abaga had a relatively quiet 2013, with Ice Prince taking center stage in Chocolate City, but that doesn’t mean he’s fading. You know MI will always do something exceptional when it counts. Even though his last single Chairman didn’t really move the meter as some had expected it to do, you have to put it there that you shouldn’t underestimate MI and his 3rd album that is slated to be released this year, The Chairman, is still one to look forward to.

phenom 2

Phenom – Best Rapper Alive (B.R.A) [Mixtape]

Phenom’s B.R.A was supposed to be released late 2013, and actually as of december it was still expected at the tail end of the year. As we all know that didn’t happen so you know it’s definitely going to happen this year. Phenom, the KnightHouse general has been one of the promising acts to look out for since he burst into the scene. This is the year his project drops and it’s one that could potentially define the way his career will carry on from there.

phyno

Phyno – TBA

If I had to guess I’d say he’d title it Man Of The Year, but his camp has refused to confirm any album titles yet. But really it doesn’t matter what the album is called, you get the feeling it’s gonna be packing some major heat. His singles Man Of Year and Parcel have put him on the hottest act to watch list in 2014, so it’s natural that his project will be highly anticipated.

Praiz

Praiz – Rich & Famous

Finally! This will be the year we get an album from Praiz. I know we said that last year but this (as with last year) we are getting confirmation from his camp, and we’ve been told to be on the look out for a few surprises. Praiz arguably has the best singing voice in Nigeria. Even tho his last single Oshe which featured Awilo didn’t really thrill his core fans, you have to still put it out there that there’ll be a lot of folks waiting for his project. Including me :)

...

Ruby (Self Titled)

Ruby has the potential to surprise a lot of people this year, and with word that she’ll be putting out a self-titled EP, 2014 could be the break out year for the songstress. Her previous singles, Okay and Down have been doing pretty well and have gathered her a substantial fan base. For the talents Ruby possesses and the solid team we know she has behind her, expect this EP to be very solid. Even if it’s not mainstream afro-pop.

HorploadWorks_SeanTizzle_3

Sean Tizzle – The Journey

Sean Tizzle had an outstanding 2013, and it ended with him grabbing the Next Rated award at the Headies Awards 2013. His singles Sho Lee, Mama Eh and International Badman have been in steady rotation for pretty much all of 2013, and you have to figure that his album The Journey, will be one to look out for this year. If we are to go with history this could make him a bonafide star.

skales

Skales – TBA

So Skales just might be losing his buzz a little bit as we’ve seen single after single after single come and go, but still no album. Once again word on the street is that we’ll get to see an album this year, but just like 2012, and 2013, expecting to drop an album and actually dropping an album are 2 different things. With WizKid also dropping an album this year, it could go bad for Skales once again this year. However if this album does drop this year, it’ll be a long time coming and one that will definitely be one to listen to.

wande-coal-las-gidi-2

Wande Coal – Black Diamond

Wande Coal is finally out of the shadows of Mo-Hits and Mavin Records and now floats his own label, Black Diamond. His recent singles The Kick, Baby Face and Amorawa have been doing pretty well, even though he hasn’t quite hit his Mushin To Mo-hits form, but everyone knows the talent is there. As much as this album will be anticipated, everyone will be curious to see how it all comes out without one of his major mentors in music, Don Jazzy.

WIZKID (1)

WizKid – TBA

Star Boy! He just might be the artist of 2013 in terms of his impact to music, and many fans were extremely disappointed when his album scheduled for June, 2013 was postponed till this year. His singles Jaiye Jaiye, Drop and On Top Your Matter are arguably some of the hottest singles of 2013, and everyone knows WizKid rarely falls hand, so you know his 2nd album due out this year will be one that every music fan will want. Plus we might see even more international collaborations.

Yemi Alade

Yemi Alade – Miss Johnny or King Yemi Alade

Yemi Alade has the potential to be the top female entertainer by time 2014 is over and done with, and that is for real. Now we just have to wait and see if that potential actualizes, but you have to say so far so good. Her single Johnny has been a serious buzz since its release. Word from the label is that the album is definitely dropping this year. Titles are rumored to be Miss Johnny or King Yemi Alade, but no one has confirmed. Well even if the name is Moi-Moi music it’ll still be one I’ll definitely look forward to and so should you.

yung6ix

Yung6ix – 6’O Clock

This the year for Yung6ix. Just like Skales, you can only buzz very well for so long without dropping a major project before fans start to lose interest. A lot of his issues have been chucked up to the label, but you get the feeling that’s all about to end. His album is said to feature the likes of M.I, Olamide, Erigga and Yemi Alade amongst others, so you know it’s going to be a heavy dose of hip-hop with a south-south flavor. Definitely one to look out for this year.

Notable Mentions:

IllBliss – TBA

JayWon – Product of an Environment

Seyi Shay (Not 100% sure an album will drop this year)

Orezi

Harrysong aka Mr Songz

Urban Lifestyle youth magazine, Tush Magazine is proud to officially announce the release of their Issue 6 as they have the ‘Super, Sweet, Sexy Emma Nyra‘ and ‘Raving talented Endia‘ as their cover personalities; both of them were awarded with ‘Most Promising Act to Watch’ in the NEA AWARDS earlier this year.

Anslem Jon, Editor of Tush Magazine says “Year 2013 has been an awesome year for new artistes in Nigeria and here at Tush Magazine, we are keen on celebrating Nigeria youths. In selecting our cover page personalities which has been based majorly on the initials of their names and achievement accrued, we had no other compatible option than celebrating two Exceptional artistes: Emma Nyra and Endia

Yemi Alade on stage
The organisers of One Mic Naija called it the ‘Turn Up’ edition and from the look of things, that is what happened.
One Mic Naija held on Sunday December 8th at Ember Creek, Ikoyi and Deetunes, Chopstix, Fliptyce were just some of the guests around to cheer on as A.T, Endia, Moses, Sean Tizzle, Show Dem Camp, Skales and Yemi Alade danced, sang and brought the crowd to their feet.
Moses, the winner of Season 3 of Nigerian Idol was up next and he reminded everyone that Christmas was in the air with a medley. Then he performed ‘Number One’, the video for which was released last week.
Rapper, A.T took control of the stage next with a freestyle, and then ‘Murda’, her single. It was followed by a jam session with the band performing ‘wrecking ball’, ‘get lucky’ and other popular songs of 2013.
The Grip Boy tore up the stage next, getting everyone to rave and dance. His set was energetic and had the girls swooning.
Hosts, Kel and KB, introduced Korebrown for the Audience Freestyle session with every participant getting gifts courtesy PEAK, and the top three got a Tab, Beats by Dre ear-phones and cash prizes, courtesy Studio 360 Degrees.
With the open mic done and dusted, it was back to the performers and Show Dem Camp were up! They performed a not-yet-released single, did individual verses, and then surprised everyone by bringing Poe on stage for the monster hit, “Feel Alright”.
You could tell Yemi Alade’s set would be electric because she came up wearing a white shirt, a black tux, shorts and a bow tie. That in itself was dramatic. From serenading an audience member to twerking and then a dramatic James-Brown-like finish, she delivered an unforgettable performance.
How do you top a performance like Yemi Alade? You bring Skales on.
His energy was undeniable and the ladies jumped up appreciatively, singing and even rapping along, especially when he performed “Take Care of Me”.
Wrapping things up was Sean Tizzle who didn’t let the energy level drop one bit.  He performed “Sho le”, “mama e”, “Komole” and “kilogbe”, all without missing a beat.
One Mic Naija is a live music concert, with performers jamming with the One Mic Naija band, once every two months. The next showcase would be in February, but in the meantime, there will be videos and more from the 2013 showcases.

DJ Jimmy Jatt Victory Song

DJ Jimmy Jatt Victory Song

This is a massive collabo to kick the run in to the end of the year into high gear. DJ Jimmy Jatt teams up with GRIP Boiz (Endia, Yung L, J.Milla) and Ice Prince for this hot blazing tune titled, Victory.

Of course produced by the one and only ChopStix.

World renowned Cool DJ Jimmy Jatt shows that he knows no other way except winning as he teams up with GRIP Boiz( Yung L , Endia and J. Milla) for his brand new single titled Victory Song. Produced by the prolific Chopstix, Victory Song is a celebration of the main tenets of the Hip Hop genre, as Yung L , Endia and J. Milla industriously work every spare bar on the soul-ridden instrumental, urged on by Ice Prince in his role as the song’s drill sergeant; all combining to deliver a performance which shows hope for Nigeria’s slumbering hip-hop industry. With Victory Song, Jimmy Jatt once again shows his preference for going against the grain- something he more than successfully does on this offering.

DJ Jimmy Jatt Victory Song! Take it!
