Acclaimed Nollywood producer, Emem Isong, has released the trailer of her highly anticipated movie, CHAMPAGNE. She has already established herself as one of the most outstanding and successful producers in Nollywood, with movies such as RELOADED, GUILTY PLEASURES, and BURSTING OUT. However, CHAMPAGNE is her first outing as a director.

The film is a spellbinding romantic thriller about a couple in an open marriage whose habit of dating unsuspecting people for money and perks, takes an unexpected and decidedly dangerous turn. CHAMPAGNE was shot in Johannesburg and Houston. It stars Majid Michel, Alexx Ekubo, and South African actress, Rosemary Zimu. Also in the movie are Tana Adelana, Mbong Amata, Susan Peters, Padita Agu, and Anita Chris.

The premiere of the movie will hold in Lagos on December 19, 2014. It will also be released at cinemas across Nigeria on the same day. This excellently produced and brilliantly acted movie is one that movie-goers cannot afford to miss.

Reports are that Nollywood actress Emem Isong has secretly married her Cameroonian lover. Very little is known about the movie director in terms of her love life but, popular blogger Linda Ikeji is revealing that she got married yesterday, October 3rd, 2014.

In her report she states

The two had a secret court wedding and not a single member of her family knew about the wedding. The guy, from Kumba town in Cameroon, now works with Emem on some projects she’s handling

Sounds like a very secret wedding if no one from the family knows, but with these rumors you gotta take everything with a pinch of salt. If she is infact married then congrats to her and we wish her the best.

On Saturday, Nov. 3rd well known Nigerian Actress Uche Jombo-Rodriguez was in New York City to attend the premiere of the movie, UNGUARDED. The premiere was held at the Gold Ballroom of Hotel Pennsylvania located in midtown, Manhattan.

Other Nollywood favorites and cast members in attendance include Ramsey Nouah, Desmond Elliot, and Esosa Edosonmwan. Who were supported by fellow acting colleagues Emem Isong and Monalisa Chinda.

The premiere kicked off at about 8.30pm with a full-house of fans in attendance to enjoy what the producers had promised would be the best movie of the year; which based on the resounding applause and reviews when the curtains came down about two hours later was sure proof that the fans were not disappointed. UNGUARDED is a story about a man (played by Ramsey Nouah) who fell deeply in love with a girl (Esosa Edosonmwan), and was ready to take the next step only to find out that she had other plans which definitely didn’t include him. She leaves him devastated and damaged; and his actions here on out are unforgivable until he meets someone special (played Uche Jombo).

Fans were very impressed not just with the storyline, but the overall production of the movie. From the stellar performance and delivery of the cast, to the directing and film-editing, and even the music composition everything was well executed which together brought about a great movie. UNGUARDED is produced by Chisom Oz-lee/Best Icon Productions and directed by Desmond Elliot.

‘I’ll Take My Chances’ the much anticipated block buster, is premiering in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State on September 24th 2011!

The movie which stars talented actress, Ini Edo and hot new heartthrob Bryan Okwara and lovely dance sensation, Ashleigh Clark is being premiered in Uyo for the world to see. The movie which was shot in early February has been in post production is finally ready to be revealed to the world. The movie features a stellar cast that includes a retinue of dancers, as well as respected actor Jide Kosoko, Lilian Ikpe, Biola Williams and the late Sam Efe Loco in a spectacular tale that involves drama, suspense, dance and love. The movie was produced by Emem Isong & Ini Edo and directed by Desmond Elliot

According to Emem Isong, co-producer of the film, ‘We decided to premiere the movie in Uyo as a show of solidarity with the good people of Akwa Ibom because most of the film was shot there and depicts culture from that area. We also received much support while shooting so it will be great for them to see it first. September also happens to be the month Akwa Ibom state was created so I think its very apt for it to be shown during that period.   It is poignant for me to release this film because this is possibly one of the last most recent films acted by Uncle Sam and he was outstanding in  his performance! The film is infact dedicated to him’.

I’ll Take My Chances’ screens in cinemas nationwide in December this year.

Monalisa, Nse Ikpe-Etim and Bhaira Mcwizu on set

It is another combination of beauty and brains as nollywood screen diva Monalisa Chinda and wave making actor Joseph Benjamin put together stellar performances in another romantic comedy flick from the Royal Arts Academy titled ‘Kiss and Tell’.

Starring Desmond Elliot, Monalisa Chinda, Nse Ikpe-Etim Uche Jombo, Joseph Benjamin, Bhaira Mcwizu, Darlene Benson and others, ‘Kiss and Tell’ is set to be premiered on June 19, at the Silverbird Galleria in Lagos. As we have been informed, the classy premiere is to start by 4pm with a red carpet event and the premiere proper by 6pm.

The highly humorous movie ‘Kiss and Tell’ is set to crack the toughest ribs and it has Monalisa Chinda as the executive producer and one of the best in the field Emem Isong as the producer.

Iyke, the ultimate player, is best of friends with Bernard, except when it comes to Blue Quest, the firm they run together. When Delphine, a gorgeous divorcee who has sworn off men, walks into Iykes’s life, he makes a wager with his friend to sleep with her in ten days or sell his controlling shares in the company. What Iyke didn’t bargain for was falling for his Prey.

Iyke (Joseph Benjamin), the ultimate player in the game of women runs Blue Quest with his friend Bernard (Desmond Elliot); their friendship however does not apply to their coy. Iyke, who prides himself as the ultimate player per excellence however met his match perhaps more than he bargain for in Delphine (Monalisa Chinda), a divorce lawyer who is a divorcee herself. Iyke is about to lose a bet, a controlling shares of Blue Quest. He has to win or lose all.
Emem Isong speaking on the movie said, ‘it is a classy movie one that you watch and feel good about. We exercised a lot of caution in producing the movie so that the touch of class can be maintained. The script has a detailed touch of wit and humour and the director Desmond Eliot ensured that the cast brought the script to life. It took a lot of hard work to put the movie together but comments that we have gotten so far since the trailer has been released has made it all worth it’.

Tongues are however wagging that Monalisa might be telling her messy divorce story in the compelling flick. ‘Let me leave that to people who know me to judge’ she said in a release by Royal Arts reps, Bigsam Media.

Kiss and Tell will be in cinemas in Abuja, Lagos, Port Harcourt and other parts of the country from July 18.

“I’ll take my chances” is a tale of love, passion and dance. Osa Ogiamen is a young Theatre Arts graduate that majored in dance in America and is passionate about it. He hopes to stage a drama called “Drumbeats” and scouts all over for sponsorship together with his Peruvian girlfriend Gisele and they are both hopeful to find it. He however has to go for his Youth Service Orientation in the rustic village of Ikot Uyai in Cross River State and there meets the enigmatic and beautiful Idara. Despite their obvious differences the two are drawn together but Idara harbours a dark secret. She has been selected to be the next High Priestess of Unek, a deity that is worshipped by her people through dance.

Torn between her love for Osa and her duty to obey the call of the deity, Idara must choose and face the greatest battle of all. Osa finally receives the much awaited funding from Giselle’s father to stage his production which must be entered in a dance festival taking place in Lagos. The winner of the festival gets a grant of $100,000.00. In Idara, Osa sees the perfect partner for his drama and decides to substitute Gisele, his previous partner with her, making her (Gisele) a bitter enemy. In preparation for the production, Idara leaves the village for the big city and starts dance preparation however the calls from the deity and incessant dreams she has of herself dancing and fulfilling her priestly role, haunts her. This combined with the cries and wails from her family about the imminent disaster and certain death that is sure to befall her should she shirk her duty, succeeds in making her decide to abandon the city, for home. Idara is in a dilemma. Should she attend to the call of duty as the next Priestess of Unek or should she stay and remain where her love resides.

Ine & Choreographer

Nollywood just might be breaking out of the norm as Emem Isong produces what might be Nollywood’s first dance movie (we stand corrected). Emem Isong is known for her innovative ideas so it’s no secret that she decides to step out of the norm for this one. The movie “I’ll Take My Chances” is directed by Desmond Elliot and features Ini Edo along side Bryan Okwara who was on the reality dance show, Celebrity Take 2.

I’m definitely excited to see this, and you should be too. Here are some pictures from the dance rehearsal a few weeks ago.

Ini Edo

After enjoying a successful career in the movie industry that saw her emerge as one of the most sought-after and respected actresses, Ini Edo has achieved a new feat as she premiered her first movie, *Memories of My Heart*on Friday 15th October 2010.

on the Red Carpet; then cocktails and networking followed suit. Guests were thereafter ushered into the screening room.

The event that started a little behind schedule with an opening prayer had the National Anthem performed by Stella Damasus.

Then, RnB star, Slam performed a special track where he sang a song incorporating Ini’s name.Ini swayed to the music with her parents, siblings and husband, Philip Ehiagwina joining her.

Stella Damasus then came up and did a beautiful rendition of a love song that heralded the audience into the screening.

‘Memories of my Heart’ which stars prominent actors and actresses like Ramsey Nouah, Ini (herself), Uche Jombo, Nse Ikpe-Etim, Koffi Adjorlolo, Monalisa Chinda, Desmond Elliot tells the story of Halle who has attended several auditions but has been unable to get a role. Halle now struggles to get out of the web she has spun for herself . Just as Halle gets Bankole’s attention, Bankole suffers a terrible accident leaving him with amnesia. Dr. Dammie nurses him back to health and into her waiting arms. As the relationship deepens, Halle re-appears on the scene throwing Bankole into a state of confusion.

It was a night of glitz and glamour on Friday, August 27 and Sunday August 29, 2010 as Nollywood diva, Oby Edozieh premiered her high budget movie, “Save Our Souls” and also launched her cancer foundation, Oby Gold Cancer Foundation.

The movie premiere and foundation launch was host to the high and mighty with eminent Nigerians like the first lady, Mrs Dame Jonathan who was represented by the Honorable Minister of Women Affairs, Mrs Josephine Anenih; the Honorable Minister of Health, Prof C O Onyebuchi Chukwu; the erstwhile Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, Prof. Charles Soludo and senator Iyabo Obasanjo-Bello, at the event and celebrities like Lilian Bach, Ronke Oshodi, Enebeli Elebuwa, Kenneth Okonkwo, Emeka Enyiocha and a host of others storming the Abuja venue. The Lagos edition which held at the Oriental Hotels, Lekki was also star-studded as Nollywood actors thronged the venue to celebrate one of theirs; roll call at the premiere includes Okey Bakassi, who was also the MC, Desmond Elliot, Kenneth Okonkwo, Ronke Oshodi Oke, Bhari Mcwizu, OC Ukeje, Foluke Daramola, Andy Chukwu and a host of other celebrities.

The two nights were indeed glamorous events judging by all standards: the red carpet was filled with celebrities; the audience had music to dance to, jokes to laugh to and a lot to eat and drink.

However, the movie premiere was not a jolly affair all through as there was cause for sober reflection at both venues of the movie premiere; the two venues were filled with tears from the thought provoking and emotional movie which chronicles the emotional trauma and plight of cancer patients.

Nonetheless, the catharsis did not stop the audience from having the fun they came for. The audience was treated to the sonorous voice of Timi Dakolo, the winner of West African idols and Hip Hop award winner with veteran comedian and special adviser to the Imo State government Okey Bakassi reeling out jokes to the audience. The hostess, Oby Edozieh was all cheers all through the event in her Mon Ami designed gowns.

Oby Gold Cancer Foundation is borne out of Oby Edozieh’s passion for people with cancer. Prior to the official launch, Oby Gold Cancer Foundation has been of great help to several people with cancer, giving out counsel and support.
