Nigerian rapper hip hop recording artist, Erhiga Agarivbie, better known by his stage name Erigga is probably mocking a certain Nigerian rapper for not keeping it 100 (real).
Though no name was mentioned, Erigga’s tweet suggests subliminal shots at a fellow Nigerian rapper.
In a recent tweet posted today (August 15), Erigga said, “So sad when your favorite rapper later turn R&B singer. Na only Nigeria music industry fit run am lol.”
The tweet sparked widespread reactions on his timeline with some fans outrightly calling out some Nigerian rappers who they feel compromised.
The tweet comes at a time when music lovers, fans and critics alike have been having debates about the declining state of the Nigerian hip hop scene and the ongoing battle for the Best Rapper in Africa (BRIA) championed by raving Nigeria rapper, Blaqbonez.
While some critics have called out some Nigerian rappers for selling out and switching to gain mass appeal, others do not see anything wrong with the move, calling it a business strategy.
