Nigerian singer Koker was reported to have left Chocolate City quietly without causing a stir or controversy. However, the ”kolewerk’ crooner revealed that he terminated his contract with his former record label on mutual terms and understanding.
Nigerian tabloid Punch reached out to the singer via his manager Ibrahim Bello as to why he left the MI Abaga led record label. His manager speaking on his behalf stated there was no feud between both parties.
He said, “We have a very cordial relationship. When it’s time for business we work and vice versa. We have had a lot of performances together and if you look at MI, he’s on an entirely different lane. He is the leader of the team and all he does is discover, breed talents and give them the best possible exposure he could.”
Mr Bello also cleared the notion that lack of adequate attention was one of the reasons Koker parted ways with Choc City.
“Everyone was given at least a decent level of presence on the scene. I had solid hits back to back, which supported the efforts of the label and I knew the importance of needing to prioritise and lending my strength to the label.”
