Could WizKid Be Missing From Drake’s One Dance Video?

Many Nigerians will be excited to know that Drake is shooting a video for the mega hit single, One Dance ft. WizKid & Kyla. But could WizKid be missing from it? Well from the evidence so far it could very well happen.

Word is Drake is shooting his video in South Africa right now. Specifically, Soweto. He posted an image of the crew, Material Culture, and we believe they might be in the video. Material Culture are part of the “izikhothane” dance-battle movement by black youth in South Africa.

Pictures started floating around on instagram, however we have yet to catch a sighting of WizKid or Kyla. Jamaican singer, Popcaan could be in the video even though he was dropped from the album-version of ‘Controlla.’ Drake was also spotted at the Nelson Mandela Centre of Memory in Johannesburg.

The video was directed by Anthony Mandler and will be released pretty soon. However, if WizKid (and/or Kyla) is not featured, Drake might get a lot of heat from his Nigerian and Filipino fans.

So now we know Kyla will bw in the video. She posted a picture on twitter that she flew out to South Africa last week. Now we just have to confirm that WizKid is one deck. Surely if this video is being shot in SA, WizKid is right there in his domain.

  1. @kylaofficial is not from Philippines…
Kyla Reid (née Smith), commonly known as Kyla, is a British house music singer. She is featured on the Crazy Cousinz bassline song “Do You Mind”, which peaked at number 48 on the UK Top Singles in 2009. DJ Paleface liked Kyla’s voice after seeing her in a video for the song “Be What I Wanna Be”. She is featured on Drake’s international hit, “One Dance”, which reached number one in 15 countries, including the United Kingdom and the United States. A Filipino pop singer, also named Kyla, is often incorrectly credited as the singer featured in “One Dance”.
