Naeto C teamed up with Maleek Berry for this new joint, Atide, and my initial thought after listening was “Hmmm… Naeto C has found his touch again.” And really that’s a good thing.
At the onset the beat kinda sounds like that of Kiss Daniel’s Laye, but we’ll forgive that since that feeling disappears pretty quickly. Once the chorus hits you get consumed by how catchy the song is, and for me I immediately imagined myself in a big agbada celebrating all my blessings. That’s the mood the whole song puts you in.
Lyrically, it’s not the song you’ll listen to, and get the best of what Naeto C has to offer, but that’s not really why we’re here. The lyrics are simple, in broken English for the most part, and really meant to ingested by the simple music fan not trying to decipher anything. Just sing along, and enjoy.
Overall the song is pretty nice. A song that’ll fit right in to a celebratory playlist, and keep that child naming ceremony going. Now whether or not it’s going to be one of the big tunes for the next year is hard to tell. But right now, it’s jumping in that playlist.
