Olaoye Makinde A.K.A Olstar is an Hip Hop Artist born on the 26th March 1987 in Lagos, Nigeria. He attended Kings College Lagos for his High School and Oxbridge College for ‘A’ Levels. He Studied Computer Science (BSc) at the University of Hull and finished with a 2.1, and then proceeded to the University of Aberdeen…… to study Oil and Gas Enterprise Management (MSc) and finished with a distinction.
Olstar started his musical career officially in 2009 when he moved back to Nigeria for his National youth service. He met 2shotz’s brother who made 2shotz listen to one of his singles that he recorded back in England. 2shotz liked what he heard and that’s how Olstar became an ‘’Umunamu Soldier’’. He is mainly into soulful hip hop but also takes it to the club sometimes.

Back in 2007, Olstar released the campus banger “Eehhnn” which became a hit track within the African community in UK universities. During shows over there, he performed with the likes of Neyo, Sway, N-Dubs, Tim Westwood to mention a few.

Olstar is one third of the trio “Umunamu Group” which also comprises of 2shotz and the producer Blaze.
Olstar is a very hardworking, dedicated person as well as a talented artist. He is a very focused and determined individual who puts all his efforts with all seriousness to achieve his goals. People close to him would describe him as honest, down to earth, easy going and a good friend.
