Asa (pronounced Asha) is a talented young singer-guitarist from Nigeria. Asa grew up listening to her father’s record collection, and has been influenced by the heady soul, reggae and folk-jazz sounds of Nina Simone, Aretha Franklin, Marvin Gaye, Bob Marley and classics from the Gold Coast. Asa was recently nominated for 2 MTV Africa awards.
For those in the Atlanta area on sunday, this is definitely a must-go concert if you like subtle jazz, soul, soft rock, and slow soft reggae.
