Why The A.C.R.E Concert Was Cancelled

This is an official statement from the show organizers of the A.C.R.E concert that was scheduled to take place in Washington DC, on saturday July 30th 2011.

There have been a lot of rumors surrounding why the show got canceled, especially since it was reported that most of the artists involved were already in the vicinity. The show was scheduled to have Banky W, Wale, MI, 2face, Naeto C and a host of others perform.

Here is an official statement from the organizers.

To Whom It May Concern:

All the organizers, event planners, and associates of the A.C.R.E Concert would like to apologize for the unfortunate incident that took place on July 30th, 2011. The concert was cancelled for reasons beyond our control. All the artists were flown into Virginia, rehearsed hours before the event at the sound check, and were ready to perform. However, the manager of the venue, without warning or consent, chose to shut down the concert before the allotted time was up. This decision was not discussed prior to the event and we, at Oxigen-Media Group, had paid for the space, contractually
reserved it until 11:30pm, and had no knowledge of the cancellation.

Despite the rumors that have been dispersed since the day of the concert, this statement serves as an official declaration of what events led to the abrupt cancellation of the A.C.R.E Concert. We feel obligated to inform everyone who have invested time and money in our event that we were not involved in the decisions that led to the termination.

At this time, we are steadily working towards rescheduling the concert for a later date at a different location, and all the musicians are in support of that effort and are willing to perform. We will update the public as soon as we have more information.
