Three huge traffic robots were designed by women engineers in Congo to help direct traffic and prevent accidents from happening. Pretty cool huh?

Each of the robot which costs about $27,500, is designed to be fitted with traffic lights on the hands and have cameras fitted into their chests to monitor traffic in the capital. The information from the camera is fed in real-time to a traffic control room in the city.

Therese Izay, the president of Women’s Technology, said the new machines react more quickly to moving traffic and added “In our city, someone can commit an offence and run away, and say that no one saw him. But now, day or night, we’ll be able to see him in real time and he will pay his fine like in all the serious countries of the world.”

This is great stuff. Here’s some pictures of the robots
