“One Of The Things Killing The Film Industry Is The Fact That It Is Riddled With Too Many Cliques”- Ngozi Nwosu


Nollywood Actress, Ngozi Nwosu, most famous for her role, “Peaceful Peace’, one of the troublesome wives of Chief Fuji in the Amaka Igwe’s soap, Fuji House of Commotion, was on the hot seat of the popular TV Game Show, Who Wants To Be A Millionaire, helping to raise funds for Usman Pategi of Samaja fame.

A few years down the line, she would appear on the same show, in company with two other persons, playing to raise funds for her medical treatment. The actress was a recipient of the N1m that was won on the show to aid her treatment and was assisted by entertainment journalist, Seun Oloketuyi, and fellow thespian Lillian Amah. The talented actress recently recovered from her illness and is fully back on her feet. In her recent interview, she talks about the issue of several Cliques in Nollywood and if one is to get a good role, he or she must belong to one clique or the other she further stated that this new development could destroy the growth of Nollywood and roles should be open to Talents who are worth it. “One of the things killing the film industry is the fact that it is riddled with too many cliques. Nowadays, it appears that you have to belong to a clique in the industry to get a role in a movie. This is really silly and something has to be done about it. I don’t want to belong to any clique. Although I am seriously affected by this unhealthy development, I believe there will be a change of attitude soon. The only thing that is constant in life is change. Nevertheless, I am still available to anyone who sees me as a professional and wants to work with me,”

She talks further about the old school actors and actresses returning as a result of not getting roles anymore..she stated:

They are ready to work, if they are given jobs to do. But this doesn’t mean they should go down on their knees to beg the producers.”
