It’s about as daring of a front cover ad as you’ll find. Punch Newspaper ran this ad this morning apparently put in by Governor of Ekiti State, Ayo Fayose. The ad was meant to be in support of PDP candidate, and current president, Goodluck Jonathan, and a swipe at Buhari, the APC candidate.
To say these many Nigerians have expressed all kinds of emotions at what the ad insinuates. From sympathy, to outrage, disappointment and disbelief.
It’s a very sensitive ad, anyway you slice it. Here are some reactions from Nigerians on twitter
Watch Fayose and PDP deny that advert and say it was implanted by APC to put PDP in a bad light…but we all know Fayose is a Tout..

My point exactly “@Miss_Jayla: We are begging for no violence and these ones are just fanning the flames. Heads need to roll at Punch!”

You can’t even blame Punch. Plain journalism.

You need to see Ayo Faroese advert on the front page of Punch newspaper this morning. Fayose is a shame to Ekiti people going by the advert

Gov Fayose and Gov Akpabio I don’t know who is more desperate. They appear to have more sleepless nights over @ThisIsBuhari than GEJ himself

The Punch editorial team would probably have wanted to turn that vile Fayose ad down. But the money men probaby couldn’t resist. Money talks

But You Know Ayo Fayose didn’t do that alone?Someone’s dad, uncle, brother worked on that ad and submitted same.

The best action for GEJ now is to suspend Punch newspaper, and publicly condemn the statements made by Fayose.

If the advert credited to Ayo Fayose is true then Nigeria is in bigger trouble than I thought; only God holds the power of life & death!

@MrAyeDee y’all been talking about it a long time. That thing by Fayose just tells us the silent wish.
