Boko Haram Fighters Attack Baga in Borno; Over 2000 Killed?

On one hand it’s very hard to imagine but on the other with the rate at which Boko Haram is going, it’s not such a far fetched idea to conceive.

A report by BBC Africa has that Boko Haram fighters attacked the north eastern town of Baga, in Borno State with about 2000 dying in the process.

According to the report Boko Haram is now in control of Baga and 16 neighbouring towns after the military retreated, Mr Bukar, a senior government official said.

While he raised fears that some 2,000 had been killed in the raids, other reports put the number in the hundreds. Bodies are said to be littered on the streets as many have fled the area and were unable to bury their dead loved ones.

Other reports have said that some Boko Haram fighters are setting up checkpoints and killing people who were hiding in the bush.
