If you don’t know who Dr Stella Ameyo Adadevoh is then you’ve been living under a rock for the past 6 months.

This national hero who died earlier this year was responsible for overseeing the treatment of the first Ebola case in Nigeria, Patrick Sawyer, but more importantly ensuring that the disease didn’t spread any further than it had already spread. The magnitude of that effort can’t be overstated with Nigeria having over a 170 million people.

Unfortunately in the process she contracted the disease and died shortly after.

She’s listed in CNN’s Most Inspiring Women of 2014, a list which also includes Lupita Nyong’o, Angelina Jolie, Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie, and a host of other.
