Even though just yesterday, Olympic runner, Oscar Pistorius was found not guilty of premeditated murder, a South African court today found him guilty of Culpable Homicide.
In a South African court room, the judge Thokozile Masipa announced the verdict after as Pistorius to stand. The Olympic runner still faced charged of discharging a gun in public, and illegal possession of ammunition, both of which he was found guilty of.
Per South African law, the verdict of culpable homicide carries a maximum sentence of 15 years, but does not call for a minimum sentence. The gun charge carries no minimum sentence, meaning Pistorius could receive no jail time whatsoever.
A sentencing has not been announced yet, and the court will be postponed until the defense are ready to present their arguments for a possibly reduced sentence.
After 41 days of trial, the case finally looks to be coming to an end.
