Review: Reekado Banks – Chop Am

Is there anything Mavin Records aren’t doing well these days? It seems the crew is not resting on their loins with massive success of Dorobucci, but instead capitalizing on their to push out some of the individual acts on the label.

Reekado Bank‘s latest single Chop Am is one that in many way reminds me of Wande Coal in his mo-hitts days. The melody and beat of the song is not anything so revolutionary from Don Jazzy, the lyrics are good enough but not anything that just wows you, and Reekado Banks vocally did pretty well, but the total package put together works very very well to produce a nice up tempo party song. Sometimes it’s all in the details, and that’s where you can count on Don Jazzy doing his thing.

In summary, I expect Chop Am to be a hot song well into 2015, and it’s easily a song that’ll rock parties very well. Whether or not it’s an A list song, is still up for debate. Still a solid song.
