It’s Friday people! Another time to get on our review session for 2 joints that dropped this past week, and this week we’ll be hitting WizKid’s Number One Lover and rising act Tesh Carter’s new joint.
WizKid – Number One Lover ft. Shaydee
In all honesty this probably wont go down in history as one of WizKid’s top joints but it’s still a pretty good listen, and a song that serves a specific purpose. That moment when you with your lady friend at the club and it’s winding down towards the end of the night. *insert this tune here*
I cant really say I’m loving the lyrics per say from WizKid, and you can say that Shaydee might have outperformed him, but WizKid is still so skilled that even if he sings the alphabet song it’ll sound great. With that said the combination of Shaydee and WizKid worked very well, and the groovy slow reggae beat from Legendury Beatz make everything a nicely packaged song.
Like I said earlier, it’s not the song we’ll remember WizKid for but it’ll serve its purpose.
Tesh Carter – The Bounce
I’m still trying to figure out the Tesh I prefer; The one from Baddo or this new flow style in The Bounce, but if I had to put my money on it, I’ll say the former. Either way you know Tesh got mad talent, and she’ll be experimenting with different sounds and styles to find that sweet spot.
This new joint produced by Don Jazzy is pretty decent, and will only add to her buzz. The beat from Don Jazzy is not the best we’ve heard from him, and really sounds pretty generic. The flow from Tesh is pretty nice, but she definitely dipped into the book of Busta Rhyme’s Twerk It, and borrows a page or 2. Nonetheless the overall song is pretty good.
I haven’t decided if I’ll add it to the ipod or not, but I’ll certainly look out for the next Tesh Carter joint or feature.
