Friday people! Let’s get into the song we’ll be reviewing this week. It’s time for Two To Review.
Tekno – Dance
Raise your hand if you know exactly what Tekno is saying in this song; In any language. *Sigh* It’s kind of frustrating because the Tekno we’ve come to know is very talented, and did well to at least put some lyrics down on a song to make it listenable.
This unfortunately is not what I expected from Tekno. The Tekno of Holiday and Onyenekwu is not what is on display here. The beat is pretty good from E-Kelly, but everything else is generic, and uninspiring.
Don’t get me wrong, I’m a Tekno fan, but I have to say this is not it. Who knows though? Enough air spins and we might hear it more.
Omotola Jalade Ekeinde – Barren Land
I think it’s pretty pointless right now to say Omotola should stop singing cos she’s obviously not goint to, but please if we’re going to be getting songs from her can it be of some level of quality? Please.
Interestingly Omotola’s song has more lyrical content than a lot of song out today, but the whole thing just gets lost in the noisy beat, the autotune, the uninspiring voice, and poor song quality. If this is what Omotola is going to use to inspire Africa then we really have a long way to go to be inspired.
Now I’m going to watch an Omotola movie and smile at how amazing of an actress she is, and forget I just heard this.
