Nobel Laureate, Wole Soyinka has lost one of his daughters, Iyetade Soyinka.
Iyetade Soyinka, the second daughter of the writer, is said to have died after a brief illness. She died at the University of Ibadan Teaching Hospital. She was 48.
A statement signed by Prof Wole Soyinka’s aide, Jahman Anikulapo, She is described as an “affable, intelligent and sometimes capricious” woman. Despite her health problems, the late Iyetade Soyinka “greeted every day with a smile and doted on her two children.”
“Iyetade leaves behind two children, both parents, numerous siblings, nieces and nephews.”
