In case you missed President Jonathan response to former President Obasanjo’s letter read HERE
Today Chief Olusegun Obasanjo says he will not react to President Goodluck Jonathan’s reply letter. The former President released a media statement today through his Media aide, Tunde Oladunjoye, saying he has accomplished his aim of bringing President Jonathan’s attention to important national issues and do not wish to make further comments beyond the contents of his last letter to Mr. President

Read below:

“Since the publication of the letter written by the President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan, which was in response to the letter earlier written by revered former President Olusegun Obasanjo; we have received several requests from local & international media asking to know Chief Obasanjo’s reaction to Mr. President’s response.

“One, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo, acknowledges Mr. President’s letter/response. However, Baba, as he already indicated in his December 2, 2013 letter, does not wish to make further comments beyond the contents of his last letter to Mr. President or react to the said letter/response from Dr. Goodluck Ebele Jonathan. Let me quote from page fourteen, paragraph two of Chief Obasanjo’s letter to Mr. President dated December 2, 2013 and titled Before It Is Too Late:

‘I will maintain my serenity, because by this letter I have done my duty to you as I have always done, to your government, to the party, PDP, and to our country, Nigeria’.

“Two, let me reiterate here, that Chief Olusegun Obasanjo, GCFR has tremendous respect for the office of the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Chief Olusegun Obasanjo sincerely appreciates all of you, my cherished colleagues; gentlemen and women of the media profession, who have been very upright, ethical and robust on the subject matter.”

  1. obasanjo foolishly thinks he is God. He can not reply again as there are no More lies left for him. is he not the same Operation Feed the Nation(OFN) which he converted to obasanjo farms nigeria(OFN). is this not thr obasanjo that made a public launching of his personal library forcing some governors to donate out of state accounts? Obasanjo has no right over nugerua than any nugerian. he should go to hell with his nonsense lies.

  2. TO UNDERSTAND WHAT IT IS ABOUT THIS MATTER – Think about America under President Franklin Roosevelt and why / how 2nd term came into being in their own constitution – you’ll discover that Dr. Jonathan more than fits into the reasons but that is not OBJ, Fani Kayode and Asiwaju Tinibu are concerned about – they want Jonathan to serve One – term chikena! Reading carefully too, you can see (compare and contrast) the different deportment – reason why we say let those who are trained properly aspire for the Presidency so that they can, not only understand what policies are about but can comprehend such policies on their own efforts first before they invite advisers to (who) muddle the whole ideas about governance, folks! Wishing all your readers a Happy Christmas and a more fruitful/ hopeful New Year from what we are witness of, is happening in Nigeria, folks! Allha itamake mu ageli Nijeria, ka bam u anfani mu jala gelin’mu de shi!

If you have been reading – familiar with my comments and other publications about Nigeria’s political trajectory and problems you’ll have come across my four quotations – two from Shakespeare and the other two from the Holy Bible, thus: –

 Alas your too much love and care of us are heavy ‘orisons’ against this innocent man (Dr. G. Ebele Jonathan). If little faults proceeding on distemper (because he wants to carry on Yar’Adua’s agenda, his running mate by Constitution) shall not be winked at, how shall we stretch our eyes when capital crimes, chewed, swallowed and digested appear before us?

 ‘If simple crimes committed out of distemper or euphoria (i.e. if he did, in political schism as often is the case in Nigeria) cannot be forgiven or winked at, what about the serious ones (committed by all those now etching and posturing to come back) concocted, chewed, swallowed and digested’ – what do you do about those, folks?

 Thou art of purer eyes than to behold evil, and cans’t not look upon iniquity wherefore lookest thou upon them that deal treacherously, and holdest thy tongue when the wicked devoureth the man that is more righteous than he?” Hab. 1; 13, Matt. 7; 1-2.

     Righteousness exalts a nation but sin is a reproach to any people! Prov. 14. 34; Pa 132, 9; Imram 3. 84, 187

 The venom clamours of a jealous women poisons more deadly than a mad dog’s tooth!”

Reading through this response to the letter from Obasanjo to President Dr. Jonathan you’ll agree with me that all that is involved or concerned about the reactions expressed in the two correspondences including one from Obasanjo’s daughter all are encapsulated in the quotations listed above! There is no gain to add anymore than what has been posted in the exposé, in particular what Prof. Wole Soyinka just said about the meeting between APC and Obasanjo! And to say that the solutions (simple and cost effective) for Nigeria’s political problems have hitherto not only submitted but been handed-in by hand also for the authorities to do something about the myriad of problems existing in the country! The most glaring is exemplified is the current Option A-4 which the INEC is using for the elections submitted to IBB’s Administration in 1988 down to 1991/2! If they have records in the archives, you’ll see the solutions in “Nigeria – survival or disintegration!” submitted under the following correspondences Ref; GHQ/CGS/222 12th Sep. 1986; 2263/L.1V/98 8th Sept/. 1987; 2387 2nd Sep 1988; 2367 20th July 1989; 2433 29th 1989; in particular 2263 10th July 1991. Then Press/131 29th Oct. 2003; F. 15021/T1/126 5th Nov. 2007; SH/VP/41 2nd Oct. 2007; SH/COS/52/129 30th Aug. 2010 to mention these few otherwise see http://www.virgo-enterprised.com Click on “How to get at yout ….” Contents, page [2] and see for yourselves what I mean.

You’ll not believe this: I am a product of Bishop Dimeari Grammar School, Yanagoa as one of the pioneer students 1957 to 61for the whole five years; I have met with Governor Peter Obi and Dr. Reuben Abati at the Proxy Hall 149 Commercial Road London; I have met with Governor Peter Obi again at the Mile-End University of East London Annex 2009 November, where I gave him copy of my publication on Option A-4 also and he swore before the Anambrarians that his election for 2nd term 2010 mustbe based on the Option, which eventually he worn and Prof. M. Iwu was ‘all eyes’ – he (Iwu) could not believe the outcome of the elections resolved instantly within the week! They went ahead and tried the solution in Delta State Nov. that year after which result the President decide it must be adopted for the subsequent elections in Nigeria, hence the acceptance of use of it by INEC! I have also met with Dr. Bamanga Tukur at the Metropole Hotel Edgware Rd and Gen. Y. Gowon in London at the Jesus House Brent Cross, London 2008 and they have copies of the solutions delivered to them personally by me! Till date, I have not heard any feedback from these and you are slowly drifting towards the brink according to OBJ!

Reason I have posted this information is due to what in my Igbo parlance we say: “Elders do (should) not stay idly by and let the she-goat in labor to give birth to its calf!” In our case, ‘Philosophers’ should not stay watching the degeneration of things as it is now appears to be in Nigeria’s political senarios! I said much earlier that in France military officers wanting to take up political career after service usually are sent for what they term ‘transmutation course’ same as in the U.S. where you’ll have passed through either of the two Houses – i. e. Congress before you can be accepted as capable candidate for the Presidency. in total contrast of what you do in Nigeria – where anybody can opt to become President irrespective of the training or experience acquired and he/ she goes about it through all kinds of circumvent(ive) approach – through Governor’s Meetings now in Nigeria – a provision not (non-existent) in the Constitution – and they have now brought back the ‘carpet crossing’ to not only compound but to perpetuate the problems by throwing a ‘spanner into the works’ as it were, folks, and nobody sees the harm/ danger in the practice! I talked about the chasm that exists in the arrangement in the Council of State and in particular the ‘immunity clause’ in the Constitution but up to this moment nobody including the NBA members could see and or agree on the dangers in the provision – affording a freehand for the kind of persons with questionable and uncouth characters we call politicians in Nigeria to ride on our backs! It is not surprising that we are witnessing the kind of recklessness/ effrontery in area of corruption in Nigeria and still the ‘immunity’ is not only accepted but is fostered in Nigeria!

OBJ’s letter reminds you about that Ruling at the trial of Chief O. Awolowo where the presiding Judge said:of Awo, “It is a pity that you are engaged in activities that will pull down the walls you were part of to build in the first place!” before he gave his sentence – we appear to be at the stage now or approach it in Nigeria, folks! I heard the OBJ is planning to join an Evangelist Movement and with this kind of deportment you wonder who might be the group he wants to proselytise in the true sense of it, folks!

Now, I am not against anybody hence you have seen me enumerate the dates and contacts I have made single-handedly even without any form of reimbursement to date, but then all that is due (down) to my concerns (because I am concerned) so that others will benefit from my experience! You’ll think that somebody of my disposition and trained in Yanagoa, with the kind of exposure to date, should be part of the administration but it has not happened – it tells about the extent of the depravity and naiveté in Nigeria – permit me am trying to show the degree of nonchalancy in the country; here is a chap knocking on your doors to tell/ give you something that can help your assignment yet you do not want to know – behold what you’re put in charge of concerns the public and not your private affairs! And we talk about open door policy and those in DIASPORA to make contributions – you wonder which other ways can this be done effectively, folks? I am prompted like Iyabo and Peof. Wole Shoyinka to come up with this comment in the hope that you can glean something out of it! I have also spent time and money trying to get at those concerned about what we are trying/ hoping to achieve in Nigeria but as you can see in that my web-site nothing has come by as a way of recognition! You find loads of ‘nincompoops’ in the corridors of power in Nigeria!

In conclusion, U want to say that the copies of my publications handed to the names above were also sent for the United Nations attention and they not only acknowledged them but request/ urged me to re-submit the books through my Country’s Representative since it is out of their custom/ procedure to accept political solutions from private individuals outside their Council member States! Behold there is the suspicion that the Chairman of Ghana’s INEC knows about the publication – reason because he was part official in the U.N. in the African political Division at the time of my writing and he went to help in Ghana’s 2004 elections on ‘secondment’ and they used Option A-4 for the election that year and again in 2008 – surprising that Nigeria sent delegation from the Senate to go and observe their elections that year – 2008! This information is verifiable and I have highlighted it just to buttress my case about concerns!

Now to put those of you between 30 to 40 years old in the picture of what it is all about, thus: –

Here is what it is the contention whoever is advising the groups and Jonathan should stand by it unless he feels he is now ready to compromise his Constitutional Right; –

Chapter 1 of the Constitition of Nigeria says in part 1: –

    PART 1

    FEDERAL REPUBLIC OF NIGERIA

    1. (1). The Constitution is supreme and its provisions shall have binding force on all authorities and persons throughout the Federal Repblic of Nugeria.
    (2) . The Federal Republic of Nigeria shall not be governed or shall any person or persons take control of the Government of Nigeria or part thereof, except in accordance with the provisions of this Constitution.
(3). If any other law is inconsistenct with the provisions of this Constitution, the Constitition shall prevail, and that other law(s) shall, to the extent of the inconsistency be null and void.

This is where Dr. Jonathan and Obasanjo and his group are concerned – the operative word/ phrase is; If any law is inconsistent with the provions of …………….. the provisions in the Constitution shall prevail! “ Note it did not say “.… will prevail” but shall prevail!

It is very likely that Dr. Jonathan and his advisers are relying on the Constitutional provision where as OBJ and Fani Kayode and their group are relying on personal agreement/ custom yet OBJ was to do One term in 1999 to 2003 but he droped the idea and asked for 2nd – Term and at end of the 2nd term he wanted Third-term and, in fact, wanted to get it through mago-mago! Now, who do you think is going by the provision of the Constitution? Going by Manadela’s example as they now want us to recognise – ANC is still the government in South Africa same as Mugabe’s party in Zimbabwe because they want to restore confidence and continuity for their countries and like I siad early, Mandela saw that what he fought for had been provided – achieved for the people so he had nomore need to stay back in South Africa! Whereas in Nigeria Dr. Jonathan is trying to revive anf reactivate all that both OBJ and the other past Heads of State enabled to collapse like the railways, highways, hospitals, energy-power, river transtport, refineries, ajaokuta steel industry etc, etc including Lagos – Ubadan hgihway, so that the youths will start getting employment in Nigeria!

On this note, I am saying to the youths in Nigeria try and see the crux of the matter/ contention even by logic, for those of you studying law, OBJ and Fani Kayode and group (of like minds) want Jonathan to accept agreement, which by Nigerian Constitution is not acceptable – is null and void, they want their own man/ candidate to take over – they forget rather intuitively the old adage which is; It were better to deal with ‘devil’ you know than the one you’re not familiar with! Now, the question for both men (OBJ and Fani Kayode) is: How many terms will your man do/ serve? Dr. Jonathan, I said early, is working to re-activate all the infrastrues, institutions and industries that OBJ and his colleagues and past Heads of State enabled to collapse so, there is every reason rational and equity for Jonathan to be encouraged to do 2nd Term particularly since the Constitution not only provides but approves that! Now, if they do not want him to do 2nd term they should accept One-term as we are urging the Confab and the NSS to agree to it so that everybody will be playing on the same level playing foeld!

Here is the danger if they do not allow Dr. Jonathan to do 2nd Term. Nigerian politicians do not believe in carrying on governance from where their prdicessors stopped hence we have ‘White Elephant – abandoned projects’ all over the country, so it is very likely that if you stop Jonathan not to continue so as to complet the .transformation’, OBJ’s man will reverse all that Jonathan is trying to do for us in Nigeria! Politics, religion and or culture aside, folks, you people should think rationally, not forgetting that the North has had 8 past Heads of State and OBJ had his 2nd term and in fact, wanted Third term by stealth!

In short, Nigerians, if you put in another person in place of Jonathan all that is happening now by way of re-activation of industries including the refineries will stop because of the misnomer in “My manifesto’ in Nigeria! Regarding corruption I have given them the solution to deal with the cankerworm; all that is required is time and we can Change things – i. e. the attitude here too! Essentially we want the industries and power enegy to be all reactivated under this Administration! This is my take for the youths to take note – am saying, be involved don’t be hoodwinked, folks! Talking about corruption and assasines we may well ask ouselves when did corruption and assainitaion creep into Nigeria’s psyche – recall the phrase SPOILS of War! It appears those in authority are all aspiring to have their own bit of the SPOILS in that same guise to pilege the financial cuffers in Nigeria, folks!

 What it is; It appears that Nigeria is working contrary to the normal international ethics as far as politics and Laws of the land are concerned – i. e. Where customs/ cultures come into conflict with Common Law, that common law should prevail! In Nigeria it is on the contrary and this has been part (major) bane for the problems you have in Nigeria! On the face of all that we have discussed and happening about Nigeria and her leaders why not we draw this resolve for the past Heads of State, thus: – Restitution to begin where repayment stopped or vis-versa – payment to start where restoration stopped! It is my reason for th re-think/ change in the Council of State membership – the conditions for the membersgip works against all that you can achieve in Nigeria! A provision in your Constitution where past Heads of State sit with all those they apporoved their appointments thus making the entire Council a Chamber made up of Masters and servants psychologically thereby underminig the abilities of the Judges (in particular) within the set up to perform creditably and without fear or favour, if you can see my reasoning here!

To settle matters in Nigeria consider ‘One-term’ of five/ Six years for the Presidency in the manner I have suggested it, scrape ‘immunity’ in your Conatitution and do something about the Civil Service to improve performances and reliability in all the States and Local Governments so as to play down that obnoxious ‘Winner takes all syndrome’ in your systems in Nigeria – Winner takes all in the U. S. system is about elections and not system of governance! For the Council of State, exclude the past Heads of State as members otherwise you are practising ‘Share cropping – Agbata eke’e’, I talked about in Nigeria!

There is not much to say also than that I am using this comment to complete my contributions – as a closing page towards what we are looking for in Nigeria from my own perspective so thank you all! I will like to be part of the Confab Committee members to see what I can do` for Nigeria! Don’t forget to log onto: http://www.virgo-enterprised.com!

  3. The signs of the endtime nation agaist nation, man against man, kingdom against kingdom and now it is ex-president against present president. Nigeria where are you heading to ? But wath about Obasanjo agaist gudluck.

  4. Can any sensible person accuse a sitting President of intent to murder 1000 people without any concrete back-up to his claims? i don’t think so.
