Celebrity #ThrowBackThursday: Check Out DJ Spinall’s Top Old School Hip-Hop Joints

This thursday we caught up with Mavin Records official DJ, DJ Spinall and he shared with us his favorite hip-hop joint from back in the day. You know those joints that made us fall in love with Hip-Hop as we know it today.

Let’s take that walk back 🙂

1. Notorious BIG – Juicy

It was all a dream!! You knew when you heard that it was on and popping. Probably Biggie’s biggest jam, Juicy is still a stable in the clubs till today. A whole 19 years later…. And if you don’t know, now you know N*gga

2. 2pac – Me Against The World

Biggie’s rival and King of the west coast, 2pac. You can’t mention 2pac without mentioning Biggie, and vice versa. His hit single, Me Against The World from same titled, Album is an iconic track which was released shortly after he got out of jail in 1995. It’s just me against the world baby!!

3. Nas – New World

Off his Nostradamus album, Nas dropped some serious knowledge this joint and flew under the radar for quite a bit, but was still very well respected among hip-hip heads.

4. MC Lyte – Keep On Keeping On

B-Boy, Where the f*ck you at? I’ve been looking for your ass since a quarter past. I can already picture myself waving hands in the air back in secondary school. This joint from MC Lyte is one of those that defines my “party life” of the late 90s. Forever classic.

5. Black Street – No Diggity

I mean was there a party between 96 and 2000 where this song wasn’t played? Straight classic joint here from Black Street, Dr Dre & Queen Pen (where is she now actually).
